Mr. Desai has a dream to make India fossil fuel free as his motive is to focus on the alternative biofuel business. The growth in ethanol business would be 500 % and worth would be more than 50,000 crores and with the biofuel mission 35 lakh farmers can get the benefit and minimum 8 lakh jobs would be created in rural areas.

Mission

Mr. Desai is a resource contributor to various prominent ethanol associations in the world. Their association is strong and lasting in US, Brazil, Australia, and Thailand. His experience in Brazil created this vision for India and was also personally acknowledge by late Hon. President Dr. Abdul Kalam.

India is on going energy transformation towards sustainable energy mix and blending ethanol in petrol and further in diesel would play a vital role in its goal to achieve Net zero emission. India is 85% dependent on crude and is paying heavy price on net import bills. On the other hand India is prominently a rural and agrarian society and 72% of population resides in 6.45 lakh villages in India. If we need to flourish our country you need to increase the demographic dividend of India; by providing jobs to those in 2 tier and 3 tier cities. This would balance the population shift to big cities.

In 2003, Business Brains initiated ethanol manufacturing in India and is now proud that more than 15% of countries ethanol blending is from their support. The already commissioned 15 plants are now saving 9.90 lakh tones of CO2 emissions and subsequently 2.75 lakh tones of Greenhouse gas emissions are lowered. So, the motto from ‘Farm to Fuel’ will create a win-win situation to save net import bill and increase the income of farmers. This concept would definitely go a long way which would make farmers ‘Annadata se Urjadata’ and is in line with the vision of our Hon. PM Mr. Narendra Modi- “Economy and ecology can go hand in hand to thrive together”.

He belongs to a small village, named Darjai located in district Satara, Maharashtra. His childhood went through a series of struggles. At the age of 4, he lost his father. Hence, his mother shouldered the responsibility of family of 4. He pursued his primary education in a local school of his village followed by higher secondary education in the neighboring village. His mother couldn’t afford to send his two sisters to the school.

Day by day, the needs of his family were increasing without having any supporting system. Hence, he decided to enroll for technical education which will ensure the job immediately. Thus, he completed ITI and NCTVT in Machinist trade and started working to support his family. Eventually, he got married and blessed with two children. To make both the ends, along with full time job, he started working part time as well.

One day, his boss advised him to pursue a Part Time Engineering course which he took positively and eventually got enrolled in “M.H Saboo Sidique, Polytechnic, Mumbai” for a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. To manage full time and part time jobs and engineering study in-between was not easy for him. His day would start at 05:00 a.m. and end at 01:00 a.m. Despite of all the barriers, he topped in Engineering with 1^st class grade.

Post Engineering, he started his career as a Maintenance Supervisor. Simultaneously, he continued to gain admin and practical skills, as a result he got several opportunities in various organizations to serve the positions of Maintenance Manager, Chief Engineer, Cluster Chief Engineer to currently the Director of Engineering.

Throughout his professional journey he has inspired many youths who started their career from the base level and managed to be the HOD of their department. He strongly believes the principal “LOVE WORK, BLESS ALL & YOU WILL BE BLESSED BY GOD.”

Vijay completed his Bachelor of Engineering from Thiagarajar College of Engineering (Anna University), Madurai, Tamil Nadu ,India in the year 2006. To further strengthen his interest in data, Vijay completed his Masters of Science in Data Science (applied and computational mathematics and statistics) from University of Notre Dame, Indiana, USA. Mr.Vijay has cleared more than 20 professional certifications, from regress project Management certification (Managed by PMI) to latest AI technologies like Deep Neural Network, prompt engineering.

Vijay has been associated with the professional association for engineers IEEE(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), to create innovations in AI and Data Science and collaborate with fellow researchers.
