Vijayasarathi(Vijay) Balasubramanian has an Information technology career that spans about two decades. Vijay works for a leading cloud infrastructure company in the US as a Data and Applied science expert in the e-commerce division. Vijay leverages his decade long retail industry experience to establish world class product recommendation using Advanced AI/Machine learning concepts. Mr.Vijay has multiple awards in his belt including IT Professional of the year from Golden Bridge awards.
Vijay is currently working as a Senior Data and Applied Scientist in the e-commerce division at Microsoft USA. Before joining Microsoft, Vijay was with AT&T(Leading Telecom provider in North America) for more than 8 years as a Principal Data Scientist in the B2B division. Vijay has also worked for The Home Depot and British Telecom in Data Analyst and Engineer roles respectively.
Vijay completed his Bachelor of Engineering from Thiagarajar College of Engineering (Anna University), Madurai, Tamil Nadu ,India in the year 2006. To further strengthen his interest in data, Vijay completed his Masters of Science in Data Science (applied and computational mathematics and statistics) from University of Notre Dame, Indiana, USA. Mr.Vijay has cleared more than 20 professional certifications, from regress project Management certification (Managed by PMI) to latest AI technologies like Deep Neural Network, prompt engineering.
Vijay has been associated with the professional association for engineers IEEE(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), to create innovations in AI and Data Science and collaborate with fellow researchers. Mr.Vijay is also an upcoming fellow in British Computer Society(BCS – UK) ,IET(Institution of Engineering and Technology),IAENG (International Association of Engineers).
As a leader in IT/Data science field, Vijay has been invited as a judge in prestigious international awards like UK IT Awards, Golden bridge awards etc. he also actively participates in peer reviewing journals and AI books, recently he has reviewed a book titled “Save the soil using machine learning”.
Having led a team across geography, Vijay brings strong mentorship skills to the community. He has been a guiding force for many start up founders and technical experts through various forums including ADP List, topmate.io.
With recent interest in AI and improved computation capability for large language models(like chatGPT), Vijay has been invited as a speaker for various technical conferences. He has recently delivered a talk to fellow scientists/engineers in Israel and interacted with about 400 scientists.
