Vandana Singh, Director Global Key Account Management Asia Pacific, Saudia Cargo, is ready to take off every morning after nearly three decades in the air cargo industry. She also has three words to say to individuals who think cargo is boring and uninteresting: inquisitive, challenging and full of unexplored opportunities. What drives this woman, then?

Her previous employment with Lufthansa Cargo lasted for almost 15 years, and she described it as “a disciplined run and a journey, where, at every turn, I learned something new.”

She feels that working with female supply chain partners increases businesses’ expectations of collaboration, which may explain why women in logistics professions exhibit greater collaboration than males do. She believes this is the reason why women are more productive and have better negotiating skills.

Being a woman in the workforce, in her opinion, has no disadvantages. In a wide range of nations, there are plenty of women who work in supply chains and logistics. All you need is sincere curiosity and the assurance that comes from knowing you can accomplish anything.

She now has a focus on managing relationships with significant accounts around the world.

She also always responds, “No.. But, I can fly!” to anyone who asks her if she can drive a car. Vandana Singh has undoubtedly established a standard for all girls and women as a devoted mother and an accomplished woman in her field.

She appreciates how the government supports women in the workforce. Young women entering the workforce are advised by Vandana to constantly be self-assured. Long-standing underrepresentation of women in the air freight sector shouldn’t deter you from entering the field now.
