Snap-E Cabs and their development towards the economy of the country

In the recent development, Snap-E Cabs has secured funding of $2.5 Mn (Rs 20.7 Cr) at the Pre-Series A Round which is led by the Inflection Point Ventures. They have a plan to allocate the funds for talent acquisition, tech upgrades, and expanding their operations into new geographies.

The present fleet comprises 600+ no vehicles. It is projected to go up to 10000 in the next 5 years. The operation is to spread to some other cities in the Eastern Region. There are 700 drivers, including lady drivers, all in contract with them. The total number of jobs that have been created by Snap-E Cabs has been 1500+.

In collaboration with the Grŵp Colegau NPTC Group of Colleges, UK, Snap-E Cabs is executing a training program under ‘Utkarsh Bangla’, which is a flagship scheme under the aegis of the Paschim Banga Society for Skill Development. The ‘Cab Drivers’ training curriculum aims to increase the employability of women in the EV sector with the support of the UK-India ‘Accelerating Smart Power and Renewable Energy in India’ (ASPIRE) program.

Till December ’23, Snap-E Cabs’ performance is Rides fulfilled 7,70,148, KMs Covered 1,23,77,397, Customer Registered 4,44,284, App Downloads 5,60,463

Snap-E has signed an MOU with KMC for setting up Battery Charging in and around Kolkata. The plan is to set up 1500 charging stations. The KMC-allotted parking lots may be used for this purpose.

Snap-E Cabs has a hybrid model where they also provide B2B services. A few hotels, like Hyatt, have tied up with Snap-E Cabs to provide transportation services. Many major IT giants use Snap-E services for the pickup and drop-off of employees. A few major contracts won by Snap-E include the MoU with the Airport Authority of India where AAI will facilitate Snap-E Cabs to operate in airports managed by them. A similar contract has been signed for Howrah Station as well.
