Introducing the Hydro Lady from India – Neeta Arora who is excited, passionate, and driven by technical challenges on Complex Infrastructure Projects. She is a firm believer in teamwork and has been instrumental in grooming technical talent to meet industry standards and requirements.
Academic Journey:
She is a Civil Engineering graduate from the prestigious Delhi College of Engineering now rechristened DTU and passed out in 1990. She was a scholarship holder and was the 2nd topper of the university. Also won technical excellence awards in university for Hydrology and Design of structural Elements.
Thereafter she did her Post Graduate Diploma from Consultancy Development Centre under the Department of Scientific and industrial Research in Consultancy and Computer applications and was awarded the best trainee consultant of the year -1991 Award.
Professional Journey:
She has more than 30years of diversified rich career mainly in the field of infrastructure. She has predominantly been active and now a leading personality in a male dominated arena of Design and construction activities of various infrastructure projects such as Dams, Hydropower etc. Major contribution has been in the fields of Hydraulics, Design of Dams, Hydropower projects, Pumped storage Projects etc. She is well-known and recognized person when it comes to representation of the country in international forums on Dam and Hydropower Designs. Notable projects on which she has contributed significantly as a lead are the Afghan-India Friendship Dam (AIFD, Formerly Salma Dam and 107.5m high) Project in Afghanistan, Tehri PSP (1000MW), India and the Nikachuu HPP, Bhutan. She has been leading the design group of SMEC in India comprising of more than 100 professionals with 35+ infrastructure projects for the past 10 years. Presently supporting SMEC International Operations as Director-Renewables for SMEC International for SACA Division (South Asia and Central Asia). She is recognized well in Indian and International Dams and Hydropower Industry circles for her techno-Commercial skills.
