Ms. Asmita Abhijeeta Nayak is best described as a legal maverick. Her legal radar is looking at assisting and advising many more Corporate Houses, E-Commerce Portals & Start-ups in the coming years to nurture them into becoming force multipliers for global economy and pioneers of a self-reliant India. She holds a two-decade long experience in the field of Taxation, Corporate, IPR Laws, & Media Laws. After graduating from Symbiosis Society’s Law College (SSLC), Pune in 2005, she enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu the same year. She became a legalpreneur in the Year 2011 and started her own Law Firm, SM LEGAL Advocates & Consultants and currently operates from offices in New Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Cuttack.
She has successfully appeared in over 500 cases Pan-India, empanelment in National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), IndusInd Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank, consultancy to various NGOs and assisting in transactions for many dynamic Start-ups and E-Commerce Portals. She has authored several legal Articles such as “Rain Water Harvesting – A Legal Perspective”, “Service Tax on Maintenance and Repair’- A Legislative Hara-kiri”, “Service Tax-Negative List-Boon or Bane?” etc. which have been published in some of the leading Law Journals & Magazines of India. For such distinguished service in the legal field, she has been conferred with many prestigious Awards including “Scroll of Honour by Ex-President of India in 2009, Under 40 Rising Star by Legal Era Group in 2021, Certificate of Appreciation by Tuticorin Port Trust etc.
