Vasudev has 22 years of experience in Finance function in Senior and Executive management roles across Middle East, India, and Southeast Asia. He has worked in various multinationals across the regions and successfully delivered business objectives and strategies. In addition to bachelor’s in commerce from Mumbai University, he is a Chartered Accountant from India and also from England and Wales. He also holds an Ex MBA with dual specialization in Finance and HR from BITS, Mesra.
After working for 5 years in Bahrain, he moved to Vietnam to work for a Singapore based volumetric modular construction group TLC Modular Pte Ltd which was 60% owned by SHS Holdings Limited a SGX listed entity. TLC was undergoing a metamorphosis from a heavy steel fabrication business into a niche product line of 3D volumetric steel modular construction, in the nature of a startup. During his tenure he has streamlined the finance function across operational regions of Vietnam and New Zealand, reporting into Singapore.
He led the process of acquisition of the 60% holdings of SHS in TLC during the period 2020-21 by Goldman Sachs USA; which was successfully closed in October 2021. During this period, he has been involved across the SE Asia and AANZ regions driving the business growth and objectives. He has been trying to reach out to local Indian entrepreneurs to bring forth the benefits of modular construction to drive the next generation growth in construction technology. Modular construction is believed to save time by 30% and costs up to 40% across high rise and verticals for apartments, offices and multi-purpose buildings. He is an ardent believer that this methodology can be a game changer in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan with factory production of bathroom and toilet pods.
He takes interest in mentoring start up businesses into developing their markets and improve their customer centric approach with commercial guidance. He has been working on these with certain startups in India and Vietnam across the borders. He has successfully promoted certain IT products into transportation and from Vietnam into the Middle East markets and helped them gain access to future growth markets.
He is a professional who believes in the motto of “Ever onward, I pass through trials and succeed by never quitting”. He believes in the 3Ps and lives by it; persistence, perseverance and patience.
