A vision to nuture young minds
Sandeep continues to nurture young minds as future design professionals who would contribute to our nation building. They are the foundation to the future habitat that we aspire to live in. Design education is therefore essential and critical.
Sandeep is an Architect-Urban designer with sixteen years of work experience in the field of urban design, public spaces, master planning and transport infrastructure design. He has been associated with Anant National University since 2015 and has tutored design courses and research projects. He has worked with the Centre of Excellence in Urban Transport, CEPT University and continues to be associated with The Urban Lab, in planning, design, and implementation of high quality public infrastructure. He is trained to lead capacity building programs on sustainable urban mobility by International Urban Training Centre, South Korea (2011) and GIZ, Germany under their Sustainable Urban Mobility in Asia (SUMA) program, Beijing (2008). He is trained by SUMA program and GIZ and is a certified trainer with a focus on Non-Motorized Transport (NMT) and pedestrian facilities.
In addition to professional pursuits, his association with academics at Anant National University, has developed keen interest in integrating design education with research. He has mentored about 400 students and guided 44 undergraduate design and research these projects that have questioned relevant issues concerning architecture and urbanization today. Their thematic discourses include urbanity, dilapidation and transformations, liveability, regeneration, resilience and sustainability, public transport, social inclusivity, community and social life. These academic projects follow an analytical framework and documentation leading to meaningful design interventions.
Through his endeavours, Sandeep continues to enable students with understandings, knowledge and skills as future design professionals, who would contribute to nation building and shape the future of our habitats. Design education is therefore critical in developing foundation to our future cities that we aspire to build and live in. He intends to nurture young minds by developing awareness and design sensitivities on current and future challenges of urbanization.
