Mr. Parveen Khurana- Passionate Leader perfecting the art of Sales Negotiation
With over more than 27 years of experience in sales & marketing, adept at structuring the unstructured, handling channel sales, institutional sales and key accounts management. He gained professional maturity while performing for globally diversified groups and high market share organizations, Mr. Khurana has served major Spanish and Indian conglomerates as a part of his professional career. Currently, he serves as the Vice- President (Sales & Marketing) at Roca Bathroom Products Private Limited.
Mr. Khurana’s journey from being a front liner to the VP has been a great and satisfying one. It has taken 2 decades of extensive hard work across the nook and corner of the country, 12 months of traveling to almost 1500 hotels, away from home 15 days a month and having 3 meals a day at different locations. This journey has made him learn a new skill every month. Recalling the challenges he faced during his early days, Mr. Khurana believes that “sales is indeed a very challenging job; new day, new challenge out of which some would be anticipated some not. But here is a unique thing that is to be learned- one cannot sit on the old laurels for long, new months, new expectations and targets, new challenges of course higher than previous ones. But proactive planning helps meet success.” He also believes that Marketing is a more glamourous job as it involves talking to agencies, knowing about competitors, making the right strategies and sales on the other hand is a hardcore job, there are both risks and rewards in it. Someone who has the flair to meet and talk to new people, travel, time away from family won’t mind entering the sales team. In the long run it would be rewarding for such people and feels that both have their own positives and negatives and it depends from person to person and their preferences.
With COVID-19 affecting people globally, be it individually or affecting professionally, RBPPL being a family-owned kept people’s safety as their first priority even though when they had 3000+ people in 8 factories in India. Mr. Khurana believes that the thing that kept them going was the backing and confidence that the company gave them. They have been in this field for more than 68 years having a lot of loyal partners, wherein they believe that their love and trust helps them to be motivated.
Mr. Khurana’s suggestion to the budding entrepreneurs/ professionals is to love their job. Setting an example, if one sees his journey, having traveled passionately, working has been the hallmark of his tenure everywhere. One more thing that is important is to keep searching for improvement areas and rekindle one’s own passion from time to time. He says, “My only suggestion for youngsters would be agility is good but we have to ensure that before we put our second foot forward, we need to be sure that the first one doesn’t move. To sum it up it is important to maintain a judicious balance between speed, style and substance.”
