Achiever's Success Story
Parimal Vipani - a true example of how hard work and a never-give-up attitude can bring you tremendous success
In today’s day and age, everyone wants to become an entrepreneur and have their own business but not everyone wants to put in the hard work and the dedication that is required to build a thriving business from the ground up. Meet Mr. Parimal Vipani, who is the recipient of this year’s Indian Achiever’s Award.
Mr. Vipani is an entrepreneur of Indian origin and has been living in Nigeria for the last 24 years. He started his own venture in 2015 which proved to be fruitful but due to the market crash and devaluation of the Nigerian currency in 2016, he suffered heavy losses and had to close the doors on his business. Losing most of his investments set Mr. Vipani back but he was determined and worked hard to recover. He then started Sai Shani Enterprises in 2017 which was a trading company for consumer products. Slowly and gradually things picked up again until the Covid-19 outbreak in 2020.
Mr. Vipani persisted and ensured that his business survived in a time where a lot of companies had to shut their doors. He also started AVN Global ventures, a distributorship for Commercial and industrial lighting products with global brands like Bajaj and has now added the German brand Sylvania and Teknolite (another Indian brand) to his portfolio. AVN is already one of the biggest suppliers of commercial and industrial lights in the Nigerian market.
By the end of 2021, Mr. Vipani also secured the exclusive rights to be the sole distributor in Nigeria for Jaquar Group of Companies – a sanitaryware brand with global presence and set up a ‘Jaquar World’ showroom in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.
Mr. Vipani has years of experience under his belt and has worked with notable organizations such as Aditya Birla Group in India where he was the head of the Cement Division following which, he moved to Nigeria in 1998 and started working with Chanrai group of companies where he worked for 10 years and by the time he left, he was the Managing director for their trading division. Later, he joined Sun Group and by the time he left the company to start his entrepreneurial journey in 2015, he was the Group MD.
