Karthik comes with 20 years of professional experience across diverse disciplines and industries. An Alumnus of the National Defence Academy, he is a veteran from the Indian Armed Forces wherein he served as a commissioned officer for 6 years in the Infantry & Special Forces. After his extensive combat deployment, his corporate journey post his MBA was in the real estate industry with transaction advisory and later in Capital Market & Advisory, which was focused on fund raising, Debt syndication and Private equity investments with Cushman & Wakefield.
He joined the Prudential’s joint venture in India to incubate and initiate the Defence Affinity business. The Channel branded “Prahri” was the first in the industry and became one of the most successful distribution channels in the company and the industry from a concept placement, execution as well as profitability perspective. He further led multiple Affinity business initiatives in the organization.
He transitioned from Prudential to Tupperware brands in 2016 after 7 years to initiate the business transformation of Tupperware’s operating model in India. He led and initiated the effective transition of a single distribution led business to a multi-channel approach through E Commerce and Retail EBO keeping the customer in the center of the strategy.
Since 2019 till August 2021, he was based in Singapore with Prudential in their international insurance division, responsible for setting up a M&A practice for Emerging Markets alongside the strategy development for Wellness Ecosystems in Asia as Vice President M&A and Ecosystem Strategy. Prior to this role, he supported the President Asia Ex Japan as his VP Strategy and Chief of Staff for all the PII operations in Asia minus Japan and India.
He is currently on secondment (Expat Assignment) from Prudential to their joint venture in India as its Executive Vice President & Chief Business Officer responsible for all lines of businesses, marketing & L&D functions. The core responsibility is to affect a turnaround for the new phase of growth in the business.
