A Golden era of Queen Elizabeth II

Her Majesty The Queen was known for her affection and attracted admiration and respect. Her inspiration became the hallmark of her reign, not only for the people of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth but also for many worldwide. Over the years, I have seen her personality attracting the commoners and the powerful alike. She will be remembered for much of her work and the way she carried out the responsibility of a Queen. Her death brings great sadness to so many of us. The whole world sent messages of condolence and deep sorrow. But no better tribute, I felt, came from her son. “I speak to you today with feelings of profound sorrow. Throughout her life, Her Majesty The Queen – my beloved Mother – was an inspiration and example to me and to all my family, and we owe her the most heartfelt debt any family can owe to their mother; for her love, affection, guidance, understanding and example. Queen Elizabeth was a life well lived; a promise with destiny kept and she is mourned most deeply in her passing. That promise of lifelong service I renew to you all today,” said His Majesty in The King’s address to the Nation and the Commonwealth.

The Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi paid his condolences that reflected her warmth for India: “Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will be remembered as a stalwart of our times. She provided inspiring leadership to her nation and people. She personified dignity and decency in public life. Pained by her demise. My thoughts are with her family and the people of the UK in this sad hour.” In another tweet, Modi stated, “I had memorable meetings with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II during my UK visits in 2015 and 2018. I will never forget her warmth and kindness. During one of the meetings, she showed me the handkerchief Mahatma Gandhi gifted her at her wedding. I will always cherish that gesture.” We shall remember her for her energy, charm, and commitment to helping people in the war zone, pandemic and other natural calamities. She always strived to bring happiness to the lives of people. She will be missed. As UK’s new Prime Minister Liz Truss’s statement on the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, stated. “… Queen Elizabeth II was the rock on which modern Britain was built. Our country has grown and flourished under her reign. Britain is the great country it is today because of her. She ascended the throne just after the Second World War. She championed the development of the Commonwealth – from a small group of seven countries to a family of 56 nations spanning every continent of the world. We are now a modern, thriving, dynamic nation. Through thick and thin, Queen Elizabeth II provided us with the stability and the strength that we needed. She was the very spirit of Great Britain – and that spirit will endure. She has been our longest-ever reigning monarch…”
