First Step Foundation – addressing the rural needs

First Step Foundation – addressing the rural needs

FSF1

The rural and urban divide is increasingly expanding and in the times to come, we will see more and more people migrating to urban spaces and settling down. Amidst the hustle-bustle of this migration to urban areas was born First Step Foundation, an NGO working primarily in Uttarakhand for the betterment of some schools and school going children. The founder of the NGO, a native of Uttarkhand, after spending some years of years of urban life gave a thought to how to give back to his place of roots – and hence the idea gave birth to First Step Foundation. As there has been a dearth of facilities in rural –villages, the founder could not come across a better way to reciprocate than to start it through education, schools and children. Being the fundamental to transform life, the team of First Step Foundation keeps on visiting some select schools in rural Uttarakhand and supporting them in various ways. The foundation has been doing it for the last 5 years. Recently too, the NGO thought to pay routine visit to the state and the occasion was January 26, 2015. The latest visit was an extension of itslast visit which the NGO has made just 6 months ago. In continuation to its last visit, First Step Foundation selected 3 schools in the state this time and decided to set up libraries there. The foundation will provide these select schools books shelfs along with books on various academic courses, personality development, skill building and others. On the occasion, the team distributed sweets to the school children while handed over a few books to the keenly-onlooker students. Speaking at the occasion, the Principal from one of the students said, “First Step Foundation’s work in schools here is highly commendable and I wish if along with the government, more and more people from the urban cities and the indigenous localities would lend their support for such social causes, understanding the needs and requirements of the area, then it will not take much longer to transform places like this.” The NGO is planning to expand its support further and is committed to initiate scholarships and sports material support to these schools in  Uttarakhand.

Global Achievers’ Award

In the given market conditions, it is already a challenge to establish and sustain a business in the mother country that you live in and yet more challenging when you scale your business in foreign lands. Each country has its own laws, rules and regulations and comprehending them to operate smoothly and not get into hot bodies with legal authorities is yet another challenge. Factors such as choosing the right location, comprehending the political climate, assessing the economic environment, and understanding the legal framework are essential components for success when venturing into international markets.

Cultural differences and language barriers may pose a trouble but scaling in international markets comes with its own set of opportunities. Global markets allow businesses to tap into new customer bases and significantly boost revenue. International elevates a brand’s profile and reputation, positioning them as a global player, which can strengthen its appeal to investors, partners, and customers worldwide. Businesses are exposed to new ideas, technologies, and customer behaviors. Scaling globally can also allow businesses to reduce their dependence on a single economy during the advent of an economic downturn in one country. In some cases, operating in foreign markets may offer cost advantages, such as lower labor or production costs.

In order to recognize the immense hard work involved in setting up a business abroad or creating a benchmark for foreign working professionals, Indian Achiever’s Forum proudly introduces the Global Achievers’ Award for those who strive to achieve success in national and international markets. One of the primary criteria for this award is that the organization or professionals must have its presence in more than 2 countries. Indian Achiever’s Forum also provides necessary tools, expert’s insights and exposure to young entrepreneurs  who wish to take their success to greater heights. By participating in the Global Achiever’s Award, individuals and organizations gain a unique platform to share their success stories, connect with industry leaders, and inspire others to achieve global success.
