Mr. Vivek Kumar Yadav’s remarkable journey in Library and Information Science (LIS) is a testament to dedication, vision, and innovation. With over 17 years of rich experience, he has emerged as a pioneering force, transforming how professionals and students in the LIS domain access knowledge and opportunities.
His professional journey began in 2007 when he joined the HBTU (Harcourt Butler Technical University) Library. Over the years, he honed his expertise through various esteemed institutions, including Mangalayatan University, PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Library, and the Directorate of Education, GNCT Delhi Library. Currently, he is serving with distinction as the Assistant Library and Information Officer at the prestigious PK Kelkar Library, IIT Kanpur, where he plays a key role in managing and modernizing library services to support academic excellence and research.
Driven by a deep understanding of the sector’s challenges, he identified a crucial gap: the lack of a centralized platform to connect the LIS community across India. In response, he launched LIS Portal (lisportal.com) in 2015—an innovative online hub that brings together professionals, students, and institutions under one digital roof.
This pioneering platform has become a cornerstone for the LIS ecosystem, offering a broad spectrum of services such as Job notifications, Admission updates, LIS Events like webinars, seminars, workshops, and conferences, Results, news, and essential study resources.
Today, LIS Portal stands as one of India’s most trusted platforms in the field, attracting over 300,000+ monthly visitors, as reported by Similarweb.com (retrieved March 14, 2025). It continues to empower thousands by simplifying access to vital resources, enhancing career opportunities, and fostering a collaborative community.
