Saravanan, son of S. S. Sundarapan, was born on 11 February 1973 in Sulakkarai, a remote village in Virudhunagar District. He hails from a humble weaving family belonging to the Devanga community. Virudhunagar is historically significant as the native district of the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M. Kamaraj, whose life of simplicity and public service remains an enduring inspiration. Growing up in modest circumstances, Mr. Saravanan imbibed the values of discipline, hard work, and social responsibility from an early age.
