Dr. Femela Muniraj started her journey in the field of Medicine from M.B.B.S graduation at Madurai Medical College. Her passion towards Pathology took her to JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research), where she completed her master’s degree and earned a gold medal and best postgraduate award. She has also earned a DNB degree in Pathology. She has completed an observership course in Ophthalmic Pathology at LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad.

She is interested in medical research and has published many articles. She has received the ‘Outstanding Healthcare Researcher’ award at the Elets Healthcare Innovation Awards, the ‘Best poster award’ at the ISHTM National Conference, CARE (Chettinad Academy of Research and Education) Seed Grant for research, ‘Amazing author’ award by Kauverian Medical Journal.

She has been the lead for a Pathology lab and a Blood Centre. Her areas of expertise are Surgical Pathology, Immunohistochemistry, Immunofluorescence, Histochemistry, Hematopathology, Clinical Pathology, Cytopathology, Ophthalmic Pathology, Oncopathology, Transfusion Medicine, Troubleshooting technical errors in the laboratory, Troubleshooting EQAS failures, NABL, NAAC, and NABH accreditation, and Blood Centre Licence audit. She has been an invited speaker, chairperson, and panelist at many conferences and CMEs. She has been a quiz master at various medical education programs.
