Breaking bias and motherhood challenges, stands a woman with a vision!
Shalini Dinesh is a product manager at Walmart and is passionate about building solutions for transportation products. She is also a mentor and speaker who provides complimentary sessions for aspiring product managers. Shalini firmly believes in the saying, “If you give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, rather than if you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.”
Shalini has taken this proverb to heart and has converted her experience and competency to help others through her mentoring sessions. She has mentored over 500+ students and aspiring product managers over the past year from India and USA through 1:1 mentoring session, group cohorts, virtual seminars, etc. She provides valuable information about cracking product interviews, preparation tips, reference materials that aspirants can refer to, and a study plan.
In addition to her mentoring sessions, Shalini has attended several top US universities, like Carnegie Mellon, as a guest speaker for product/career-related sessions to help students land their dream product roles.
Shalini Dinesh moved to the United States in 2017 to pursue her master’s degree in engineering management from Southern Methodist University, Dallas. Shalini is currently working for Walmart as a PM; some of her career success includes launching the NTransit mobile application on the Google Play and Apple App Store, launching the eDocs solution, which enables the first/middle mile drivers to drive paperless while reducing their dwell time and also supporting Walmart’s sustainability goals by eliminating the need to print paper.
Before working for Walmart, Dinesh worked as a consultant for Tango Analytics. Her passion for technology and her motivation to learn and grow has helped her scale up her career ladder.
Shalini is also a mother of a nine-year-old, and she inspires other women who are trying to balance their careers and family life, along with social contribution.
