Ms. Deepa
Achiever's Success Story
Ms. Deepa’s inspirational professional journey
Having hailed from a simple middle-class family in Kerala and having lost her father at a very young age of 6, the natural choice after graduation was to get married and lead a life of a homemaker. Ms. Deepa says that her father was her first mentor and role model. His constant push motivated her to strive harder right from her childhood. The speeches she narrated to her father made her dream that she wanted to be part of something big and meaningful to positively impact the society. Watching the way her mother led her life, she learnt to count her blessings and nurtured the ‘attitude of gratitude’ in her.
Based on the experience she has; she says that success always begins at the end of the comfort zone. There will always be ambiguous things. There will be always a huge risk of failure. But there is a greater risk of holding back. What is needed is taking a big leap of faith and taking the opportunity that comes your way. She believes that ‘Leadership is not a position, but an action. The more senior you are in the organisation the more you need to listen, the more you need to learn. Focus on the success of your customers, team, and organisation. Your success is the derivative of that.
