Initiating his professional journey in the Financial services domain in 1992-93 – an era of controlled governance, Vivek has been fortunate to be at the deep end of three major global disruptions, (i) Emergence of the world wide web; (ii) Dotcom era & the ensuing information democratization; and (iii) Hyperconnected Intelligence ecosystem of today.
With an education in biosciences, Vivek has been passionately working over the last decade on leveraging the learning from these disruptions to address the last mile gap for accessible, affordable and accountable healthcare. This is significant in a country like India, where the patient to doctor ratio and the beds per patient are so insufficient that the “physical” dimensions will rarely address the gap.
He has been at the fore front of implementing the Hyperconnected Intelligent technologies to,
- drive affordability & accessibility for quality healthcare,
- addressing the last mile delivery issues, specifically leveraging the Common Services Centres / Public Health services; and,
- leveraging technology to support Population Health programs – ensuring norms for data privacy and portability.
Vivek has worked in close coordination to drive adoption of such initiatives with the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare – Government of India; Andhra Pradesh Primary Health Centres, the CSC e-Governance Services, World Health Organization, Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP) and various Provider-Pharma-Payor ecosystem players across India, Brazil, UAE, Azerbaijan and the US.
In November 2019, Vivek was awarded the Top Global Chief Enterprise Architect by ICMG and John A. Zachman (Father of Modern Enterprise Architecture), in New York (Ref: https://tinyurl.com/ICMG2019). This was in recognition for his role as the Chief Enterprise Architect, CallHealth Services Private Limited. CallHealth is India’s largest full service integrated health tech platform aggregating over 35 health and wellness services.
Continuing to express the need to leverage technology in the Provider-Pharma-Payor ecosystem, Vivek has architected the Supply Chain Aggregation Platform (2020 Onwards) for India’s first Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) working on behalf of Hospitals – StratMed. The aim is to improve the purchasing practices and thus, drive savings – leading to affordable care for patients while ensuring better health outcomes. The platform was awarded the “Best Project of 2022” and “Healthcare Project of 2022” by APAC ComputerWeekly.com (https://tinyurl.com/StratMedComputerweekly). The Platform has obtained a patent for the NLP/ML based Data Transformation Module in 2023, that enables Interoperability with disparate hospital supply chain systems. Another patent pending if the Hospital Formulary design framework based on a Cost and Efficacy model.
Through the initiatives in the healthcare domain, Vivek has architected and delivered platforms that today touch over 1 Million lives.
Currently, Vivek is working as the Founder and Managing Partner with Vivikta Advisory & Creatives. Vivikta is engaged in addressing the digital transformation agenda for its clients. His work currently is expressed in the form of live technology-based platforms with valuations >US$ 500 Million.
Vivek has continuously pursued the path of designing agile and nimble products, while ensuring their lifetime usage costs align the frugal nature of our ecosystem.
