Dr. Habib Shaikh is a technology executive, Agentic AI researcher, educator, innovator, and community leader with more than 20 years of distinguished contribution to the IT industry and a sustained commitment to advancing AI education, research, innovation, and professional development.
Currently serving as Vice President at Northern Trust, Dr. Shaikh leads global engineering initiatives spanning enterprise software platforms, cloud transformation, AI adoption, engineering productivity, platform modernization, and digital innovation. His leadership in AI-powered engineering practices, automation, and global collaboration was recognized with Northern Trust’s Chairman’s Award, received in Chicago, USA. Across his career with leading technology and financial organizations, including Northern Trust, Deutsche Bank, Mindtree, and Patni, he has contributed to enterprise-scale technology transformation, forming high performing teams and engineering excellence using AI technology.
Holding a PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Dr. Shaikh combines industry leadership with research and innovation. His research encompasses Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Internet of Things(IOT), Deep Learning, intelligent monitoring systems, and data-driven decision-making. He has authored 5 research papers published in international journals and IEEE conference proceedings, presented research at national and international conferences, and contributed to innovation through a 2 patents for an AI-Based Animal Health Monitoring Device.
A significant part of Dr. Shaikh’s contribution has been dedicated to – democratizing AI education and developing future-ready technology talent. He has built the AI-KA-DOCTOR professional AI community of 23,000+ followers, authored 500+ articles on AI and emerging technologies.
Driven by his passion for democratizing Artificial Intelligence education and developing future-ready technology talent, Dr. Habib Shaikh initiated the “Zero to Agentic AI Transformation Program”, a community-focused mentoring and upskilling initiative conducted voluntarily during his personal time. Through this initiative, he mentors fresh engineers and working technology professionals through a structured learning spanning a curriculum of Forward Deployed Engineer(FDE) and AI Engineer, with a strong emphasis on practical skills and real-world applications.
He has delivered 200+ hours of professional upskilling programs within Northern Trust to transform 30+ Mainframe engineers to Full Stack Engineers(FSE). He conducts guest lectures on Agentic AI for engineering institutions in India & Abroad, delivered Faculty Development Programs(FDP) for 110+ professors from premium universities including IIT and NIT.
Beyond his software engineering job, he contributes/volunteers as a reviewer for International Journal JAIAKE, USA(Journal of Artificial Intelligence and Knowledge Engineering, USA), a jury member, and evaluator for AI conferences, hackathons, and academic publications. His work bridges industry and academia.
Dr. Habib Shaikh holds professional certifications from leading technology organizations, including Microsoft in Azure Cloud, Google as a Professional Cloud Architect, and the Linux Foundation as a Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
