With over 25 years of leadership experience in the renewable energy sector, Deepak Katyal has been at the forefront of building and delivering large scale clean energy infrastructure across India. His career spans leading Independent Power Producers and major Engineering Procurement and Construction organizations, where he has successfully delivered more than 5 GW of diversified renewable energy capacity across solar, wind, battery energy storage systems, biogas, biomass, and cogeneration projects. Of this, over 2.5 GW has been in solar and wind projects executed from construction through commissioning and grid integration.
Deepak is widely recognized not only as a project execution leader but as a strategic architect of scalable delivery platforms. He consistently translates business growth ambitions into structured and disciplined project delivery models that balance speed, cost efficiency, quality, and risk control. His leadership goes beyond site execution, integrating governance, commercial foresight, and operational stabilization into every stage of the project lifecycle.
From early stage engineering alignment and procurement strategy to construction acceleration and power evacuation infrastructure development, he has overseen complex portfolios involving substations, transmission lines, and large scale grid connectivity. His approach combines technical depth with financial stewardship, ensuring strong capital expenditure governance, margin protection, and asset readiness for long term performance.
Deepak is known for building and leading high performing cross functional teams across geographically dispersed sites. He has managed extensive contractor ecosystems, OEM partnerships, consultants, and regulatory interfaces while maintaining strong alignment with corporate leadership and investor expectations. His ability to remove execution bottlenecks, proactively manage risk, and deliver commissioning under tight timelines has made him a trusted leader in high stakes project environments.
In addition to execution excellence, he brings strong commercial and strategic acumen. His experience includes contract structuring, techno commercial negotiations, cost optimization initiatives, vendor ecosystem development, and compliance oversight. This ensures disciplined capital deployment while safeguarding project profitability and long term sustainability.
Currently serving as Senior Vice President Head Projects at Juniper Green Energy, Deepak plays a pivotal role in scaling the organization’s renewable portfolio. He works closely with executive leadership to strengthen delivery capability, enhance execution predictability, and accelerate the company’s contribution to India’s clean energy transition.
