Times Professional Learning

Achiever's Success Story

Excellence in HR Success Story

At Times Professional Learning, over last five years, we have consciously freed ourselves from the obvious ways of doing things, we created abundant opportunities within the organisation, leading to a level playing field and brought versatility.   ‘Keep It Simple’ – That is the mantra we follow. So, when we were envisaging the kind of culture we wanted for our organisation, we decided to put Ability, Attitude and Performance above everything. We did create various Metrics mix, but at the very core of our strategies – was these three elements. We believe that – skills can be acquired if you have the right attitude and willingness to go the distance. With this Philosophy – we set out to drive our differentiator. We do not consider AGE, GENDER, PREFERENCES etc. while hiring. We believe as the world becomes smaller, being open and willing to accept “not the norm” talent will be an USP. From diverse education background to diverse ideologies, we have welcomed everyone on board with a smile.

We have broken barriers while being cool and innovative with our hiring strategies. During the pandemic, the team successfully transitioned to the #newnormal in hiring by leveraging social media for talent addition. With minimal resources and no in person meetings the team was able to source and onboard close to 40% of our current staff strength during the pandemic. The growth journey continues as the team continues to hire and attract the best talent from across.

Given the challenges posed by the pandemic and work from home, stress and balancing work life became a key aspect that the team had to address. The team worked with all stakeholders and built a strong Wellness initiative that helped build a strong focus on overall wellbeing of staff.

Brillian S. K., Head Human Resources in an exclusive interview with a leading publication quoted “The investment in emotional wellbeing has paid us rich dividends as we grew despite the slowdown in the market.”  With the entire country under lockdown, last year saw TPL’s HR team show amazing strength and agility in responding to our Staff’s wellbeing by organising various wellness interventions, engagement and connect programs. The team also put in place a CoVid Task force to provide support to staff across locations. This task force ensured that all requests were addressed within 4 hours and worked closely with the staff / family member during the tough times. The HR team handled the delicate subject of emotional health with maturity.

With things settling down post lockdown, HR at TPL, while having aced the lockdown period with grace, have rolled up their sleeves for the people challenges that lie ahead.
