An IT Professional with a Philanthropic Heart and Mind dedicated to help the needy

HOPE, (Hold on Pain Ends), a Charitable Trust started in 2014 by a single man, Shri Mahesh Parameshwaran Nair, has now more than 1500 volunteers of different age groups spread all over Kerala, and across several states of India.

 

Shri.Mahesh is a senior system analyst in UST Global and has a vast experience of 13 years in the IT field. He has worked on several onsite projects abroad and is currently working in Trivandrum office of UST Global.

For his huge contribution towards the social responsibilities and betterment of society, Shri Mahesh Parameshwaran Nair has received various achievements, some of which includes 2017 India’s most inspirational youngster by Dr.Shashi Tharoor MP, 2018 TNF Indian icon award by Director of Achanirangaathaveedu (National Award-Winning Movie), 2019 Indian Icon award by Bollywood actress Dia Mirza, 2019 Art of Living Sevaretna award, and 2019 Sevakendram award. His work was also recognized and autographed by Late. APJ Abdul Kalam.

He has been the back bone of HOPE, wherein he takes up bothsocial and environmental responsibility, and conducts several seminars and training programmes.The mission and vision of HOPE includes working to stop the practice of begging, providing medical aids, providing food and shelter to the destitute,giving educational assistance to the financially weaker children, women empowerment, and many others. 

HOPE has been immensely active in various roles of social service and has conducted several activities throughout Kerala.Some of which are:

  • Provided shelter homes to many homeless widow mothers and their kids
  • Rescued homeless people from various parts of the city
  • Established two rehabilitation homes at Gandhibhavan.
  • Adopted a slum with 52 families in Thiruvananthapuram district and provided them with the basic infrastructure facilities.
  • Gave marriage assistance to three orphan brides. 

In addition to these, HOPE volunteers make frequent visits to Old Age Homes, Mental Homes and Orphanages, and help them in the form of food, clothing, medicines etc.Wheelchairs, walking aids, hearing aids and water beds for differently abled have also been provided. 

Besides financial support, HOPE also organized Blood Data Collection and Donation camps, Organ Donation Awareness, Hair Donation camps, Voice Donation camps, Stem Cell sample Donation camps, Medical camps, Dress banks, Tribal Welfare Programmesetc.

As part of its Environmental Responsibility, HOPE is working towards the cleansing activity of Vellayani Lake. Besides this, HOPE has also provided educational support for the children from economically backward families and has handed over study kits to more than 800 children from the tribal area.

During the Covid crisis, HOPE has been very active in initiatives likeBack to Home programme, bringing back stranded people to their homes, including nurses and students from various parts of India, mostly from Maharashtra and Karnataka. Also, they have been providing assistance in the form of smart phones, laptops, televisions, internet connections to the most under privileged children so that they can exercise their Right to Education.
