Prof. Bhavinkumar Devshibhai Kanani, Assistant Professor, and CEO of Energy Management Cell, Darshan Institute of Engineering and Technology, Rajkot, Gujarat is a recipient of the Shiksha Bharati Award for honor about his Achievement and Contribution in Nation Building. He has done an M.Tech. in Electrical Engineering and Summer Research Fellowship Program from I.I.T. New Delhi. His objective is to be a successful person in his life with leadership qualities and to be honest and hard work towards his profession.
He has guided and motivated so many students at B.Tech. and M.Tech. level. Prof. Kanani has developed Energy Management Cell (EMC) at his parent institute and works as a CEO of the Cell. Under this EMC, he has completed 130+ Energy Audits, 100+ Solar PV Feasibility Study, and organized 200+ Awareness programs regarding “Energy Conservation and Environmental Sustainability” in various Schools, Colleges, Community Centers, and Industries. He is also an Energy Auditor and Chartered Engineer by the Government of India. He is associated with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power; Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA), Ministry of Petroleum & NG; National Productivity Council (NPC), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, and Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA), Govt. of Gujarat for various chartered activities regarding Energy Conservation and Awareness Programs. He has also worked with Reliance Industries Ltd. in Mega Refinery Project and commissioned its Captive Power Plant with Combined-Cycle Co-Generation plant facility.
His life is an endorsement to immersive, hands-on training, and experience within any industry that ultimately creates the power to bring on a change. Such quality involvement and passion lead him to single out inefficiencies and bottlenecks of the industry which became the driving force behind his academic and entrepreneurial endeavor.
He is a life member of more than 15 different professional organizations. He is also providing his valuable services to other organizations as a Reviewer, Editorial Board Member, Executive Committee Member, and Member of the Board of Study. He has received Appreciation from Student Startup & Innovation Policy (SSIP) and Gujarat Knowledge Society (GKS) for mentoring students in various Hackathons.
In his academic career, he has presented research papers at the International and National level. He has also organized and participated in many STTPs, Workshops, and Seminars. He was also invited for 25+ Expert Talks at different government and self-financed Technical Institutes across the state.
He is working as an External Faculty of PCRA, Energy Auditor of Energy Management Group of NPC, Executive Committee Member of IEI – SLC, and Life Member of Indian Science Congress Association.
In the span of his career, he has received various achievements including “Pedagogical Innovation Award” from GTU Innovation Council; “Top 100 International Distinguished Educators Award” from Green ThinkerZ Society; “I2OR National Eminent Educator Award” from I2OR and also nominated for various International Awards and is headed for more.
He owes his entire success to his family, friends, and the people who have ardently supported him through thick and thin. Given his career trajectory and success mindset, he has received various accolades throughout his journey and is definitely headed towards more victories and milestones. His ambition is strong and he wants to achieve even greater heights of personal and professional success in the years to come. The peak of his career is yet to come and he is geared up for it.
