Achiever's Success Story

GETTING THE EMPOWERED TO EMPOWER OTHERS

ShareALittle is a crowdfunding platform that aims to bridge the funding gap between medium-sized NGOs and potential patrons. Witnessing people’s hardships during the pandemic made the founders recognise the privilege that they sometimes overlooked- loving families, secure jobs, and easy access to food and education. Determined to make a difference, the young Chartered Accountants decided to start an initiative to help plug the inequality gap to support the underprivileged people.

Started by two childhood friends, Divya Singhal and Trishla Pareek, ShareALittle is a not-for-profit crowdfunding platform founded in November-2020 with an aim to channel funds to disadvantaged people. The founders quit their cushy corporate jobs to work full-time to create a transparent, simple, and easy-to-use platform. The donation act was designed to become seamless through a 3-click process

The platform intends to get the empowered to empower others. This is why the focus is on causes centred around education, vocational training among others, where the funds raised equip the recipients to become self-reliant and build an independent life.

Within 10 months since its inception, ShareALittle has partnered with 4 NGOs, raised almost INR 500,000 in funding from 82 unique donors, and directly served over 2,600 beneficiaries. The fundraisers have ranged from improving access to quality education to providing COVID-relief efforts.

Since fundraising takes up a huge amount of energy and effort for NGOs, ShareALittle provides end-to-end fundraising support to its partner NGOs. This includes curating fundraising content (video, story, posters), marketing the campaign, and organising fundraising events.

The ShareALittle team opts for a highly personalised and creative approach to spread the word about the fundraisers. This entails creating unique videos and stories to convey the NGO’s message. People are encouraged to donate via thought-provoking social media posts and charity events such as baking classes and Bingo nights.

Just as a single candle can light a thousand others, ShareALittle aims to touch many lives through its platform.
