Her zeal and dedication helped her in the journey of becoming a Social Technopreneur from a Small-Town girl
Reena Gupta, a Silicon Valley Social Technopreneur was raised in the small town of Danapur in the state of Bihar in a very traditional joint family household. Though the family environment was very supportive and loving but there was no emphasis on pursuing a career for a girl.Still, Reena somehow pursued her passion and after marrying a very progressive and supportive partner, her career as a software developer began to take off.
Reena, interestingly got into entrepreneurship after her first baby was born, when most of the women take a career break. In 2002, she started an IT staffing and consulting company namelyAvankia. In 2008 she founded her second startup called asTargetRecruit – the first ATS for staffing companies in the Salesforce ecosystem and decided to relocate to Silicon Valley in 2011 to be more fully involved in the entrepreneurship culture. In 2018 Reena sold TargetRecruit and in the very same year founded Mom Relaunch.
Her passion to start up Mom Relaunch is the culmination of Reena’s expertise from two decades in the staffing industry with desire to help women segue back to the workforce. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, Mom Relaunch is extending its support to men as well. The organization offers coaching as well as hands-on training which nurtures candidates to apply with their transferable skills to become relevant and ready to re-enter the workforce. Companies that take a holistic approach towards recruiting and building a diverse workforce, work in tandem with Mom Relaunch, becoming allies in creating opportunities globally for its candidates.
An active advocate and spokesperson on entrepreneurship, Reena mentors and nurtures the next generation of entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley. She is very excited to announce her first book, Career Interrupted: How to Navigate a Career Crossroads and Define Success on Your Own Terms, due out in 2020 itself.
