“Ms. Aaryani Sahay, Co – founder, Non – Profit Organisation, Let’s Talk”

young  Pioneer of  Social Entrepreneurship,   A role model for the youth and a champion for wellness, Aaryani Sahay is a 16   year   old mental health advocate and a student at the International School of Bangalore who firmly believes in the power of leading with kindness. As the Co – founder of the Non – Profit Organisation ‘Let’s   Talk,’ Aaryani uses her passion for psychology and business to start and conversation about mental health and break the stigma around reaching out for help.

Remembering her journey, she says,“I was always extremely passionate about mental health due to the devastating impact of the stigma I noticed in my community.However, I was frequently told that I should not focus my energy on solving this issue because I was only a teenager. I finally decided to challenge the status quo and started my organization. The voices of young people need to be heard.”

Aaryani’s Project, Let’s Talk, aims to spread mental health awareness in both private and government schools across India. To date, they have conducted 104 awareness sessions, impacted 3000+ students, and gained the support of over 80 volunteers.

The curriculum for the sessions has been developed by her team in collaboration with mental health experts. The Young Advocate is also a public speaker. She has spoken about mental health and her project at the United Nations Headquarters, New York City. She is also one of the youngest change makers to have spoken at and been awarded the‘Young Leaders Creating a Better World for All’by the Women’s Economic Forum at IIM Kozhikode. Aaryani frequently speaks at conferences and webinars about entrepreneurship and mental health and was invited to give a TEDxTalk on Overcoming Self – Doubt at Tedx youth Anudh.

Throughout the Pandemic, she co – authored “The Book of Wellness” with mental and physical health experts. It is a comprehensive guide to taking care of one’s wellness during these trying times. Her book has raised 1 lakh in sales, which has gone towards helping the MCKS Food for The Hungry Foundation provide meals to the Hungry. They have been able to provide 7000+ meals with the proceeds from the book. Aaryani is a 1M1B Ambassador and works with the 1M1B Foundation to encourage more young people to create social change. She intends to study behavioral economics in the future.
