Entrepreneurial and driven Chief Executive with 22 years of cross-industry experience. A pioneer in start-ups, transformer, facilitator, and builder of one the largest Digital Healthcare companies in the world – Apollo TeleHealth (a vertical of the Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited). Having been in a position responsible for P&L for more than a decade, he has strategized and implemented several innovative projects. His result oriented, enthusiastic and yet logical approach to challenges has helped him perform effectively even in highly competitive work environments. Mr. Thaploo has a superior track record in conceptualization of ideas and implementing those ideas for successful business expansion. He aims to make healthcare accessible to all using the convergence of Technology, Telecom, and MedTech ecosystems, thus, delivering Continuum of Care.

As CEO of Apollo TeleHealth, his achievement is in creating a sustainable business model and delivering quality healthcare to patients in all slabs of the pyramid, be it the urban consumer or under-served populations in remote corners of the country. It was his persistence and vision of providing healthcare services to rural and remote locations across India, which led him to initiate Apollo’s “Rural Connect” initiative, providing primary and specialty services. He and his team conceptualized and executed a first of its kind Tele-Emergency innovation in India on a PPP mode in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Taking this POC to wide-scale implementation, the team partnered with the Government of Andhra Pradesh for another innovative PPP model for Operating & Maintaining 195 UPHCs (Electronic Urban Primary Healthcare Centers). Another unique service delivery model was implemented in the state of Andhra Pradesh, which entails the running of 115 Vision Centers across the state of AP to deliver Tele-Ophthalmology. With the USP of developing innovative service delivery models, the team led by Vikram is now running 100 Digital Dispensaries in the state of Jharkhand and 120 Telemedicine & 134 Teleradiology centers in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Today, Apollo Tele Health is connected to 300 Million Indian populations remotely.
