The zest to begin

One of the traits that define Mr. Shiraz Khan (Founder / Director, Spicetree Design Agency) the best is his insatiable appetite for creativity and having knowledge of things that will enable him to create the best through his work.  Mr. Shiraz decided to embark upon his entrepreneurial journey when he realised his passion for innovation and creativity, combined with science, detail, and analytics. With the vision to take his passion to greater heights, he established Spicetree Design Agency on 6th June 2004. 

The roadmap of the company’s success 

SDA has witnessed exponential growth and is a well-established, digitally led 360 degree digital marketing brand, offering digital, web and creative solutions to brands across verticals. The current team strength is 40 but each one is an expert in their respective domains.

What makes SDA unique is that they strive to create a perfect blend of creativity and science to arrive at a most effective piece of communication that helps brand communicate, engage and grow. SDA follows a very basic principle of “GROWTH FOR ALL, ABOVE ALL”, This principle has proven to be very beneficial for all stakeholders (Clients, Team and the Organization). 

SDA also intends to establish itself in the digital AD film production by creating meaningful content for YouTube and Vimeos in video ads, short films, etc. 

SDA has won people’s trust over the years with its excellent services and serves over 1200+ from different verticals like Retail, Event Management, Travel, Corporate, Finance, Manufacturing, BFSI, Architecture, Education, Engineering, F&B, and Real Estate. The quality of services helps them have long-term relationships with the clients.

The challenges in pandemic and how they coped

While some of the businesses were unable to survive during the pandemic, SDA has used this period as an opportunity to grow. SDA has expanded its operations to the US markets, and in India, it has set up offices in Chennai and Bangalore. In terms of progress, 2020 and 2021 have been pretty good as the organization has witnessed more clients. 

There is not a single business that has never faced challenges and uncertainties. Mr. Shiraz says that he has handled different crisis scenarios in his 25+ years of experience in this field. According to him, no matter how challenging the situation is, creativity, effort and persistence can help overcome any challenge. SDA has survived the shock of two economic depressions and has scaled the business even during the pandemic. 

Mr. Shiraz firmly believes in remaining connected to the team and bonding with them. Before the pandemic, there were a lot of learning activities, fun get-togethers were conducted every alternative week, owing to the pandemic, these activities had became virtual. Irrespective of everything, every effort is made to stay connected to the team. 

Talking about how he managed to fight the pandemic, Mr. Shiraz says that SDA’s motto of growth for all, above all, acted as a driving force behind their motivation to stand firm and grow even during the pandemic.

SDA considers itself as its competition, striving to escalate excellence each next time. 

A piece of advice by the Founder

One thing that Mr. Shiraz Khan would advise everyone out there is that if you dream of creating a name for yourself in your respective field, you will have to give up procrastination and lying idle. Procrastination is your worst enemy if you wish to do something significant in your life. Step out of your comfort zone, hustle, and be persistent. You have got this one life, don’t waste it by sitting idle and doing nothing.  Step out and get known for creating a difference!
