Shabbir’s career has been a roller coaster of challenges starting with a degree in engineering in Metallurgy and Material Science followed by a Master degree in Computer Science from University of Maryland Baltimore County. During his career he has expanded his learning from being an Engineer to a Computer Scientist where he worked in Life Science Informatics (Bioinformatics), Machine learning, Databases, Data Warehouses and Artificial Intelligence among other areas. He worked in life science research along with scientists from Northwestern, Stanford, Berkley and Cold Spring Harbor research labs where he developed and utilized open source tools and technologies to manage and analyze genomic/DNA data.
His passion for open source technologies and entrepreneurial itch led to the start of Pragmatic Techsoft Pvt Ltd. Pragmatic is both a technology service provider and has vertical focused products. They work with both direct customers as well as partners to help them with their technology needs.
He further ventured to start new brands and companies namely Pragmatic Voice, a Voice technology services and products company in 2016 doing Amazon Alexa, Google Actions and other Voice platforms. His latest startup in 2020 has been Pragmatic Commerce which is a technology company helping Retail and eCommerce companies run efficient online business.
Pragmatic Techsoft helps MSMEs do Digital Transformation and compete evenly with large enterprises by achieving the last Mile of Business Process Automation and implementation. Our 100+ apps enable making the business productive, efficient and effective thus helping with customer acquisition, customer engagement and customer retention.
Struggles and Challenges

Their offering is essentially a service around an Odoo Business app and they have created Micro products and apps specific to industry verticals such as Rental, Construction, eCommerce, Retail among others. They have productized their services for faster delivery.
They are an Apps Company to achieve the Last Mile of SMB Business Apps implementation for doing Digital Transformation using Business Process Automation.
They have built more than 100 apps from real customer deployments and solving problems of more than 1000+ customers for more than 10 years. They have been ranked #6 globally on the App store in terms of revenue.
Their apps ranges from saas infrastructure, Home Delivery for eCommerce, Vertical industry apps such as Hotel, Rental, Dental, Tours Management ,Integrations with accounting systems such as Xero and Quickbooks and other integrations with CRMs such as Salesforce, Hubspot and Zoho. Next 5 years they are looking to expand 5x in terms of our revenues. They are looking at building and investing in new products thus creating new intellectual capital. They are currently scaling up our team and customer base very aggressively.
