Ashapankh creates opportunities for the young who lack education by working closely with schools and kindergartens in both rural and urban areas. The name itself encapsulates the mission and vision of this non-profitable organization, whose literary meaning is- Asha (Hope) Pankh (Wings) – “Wings of Hope”. Founded in 2016 by Mr. Sagar Shinde, the non-profit has worked on several projects like building sustainable water wells in rural areas and to teach English and IT skills to the underprivileged. Ashapankh is based in Pune, India and has ambitions to expand further to set up in other cities.
Ashapankh has also partnered with non-profits in Ireland and the U.S. to work on communication awareness about the differently-abled community. We aim to provide an opportunity to the community with sustainable income through corporate training and partnerships.
Currently, the organization is focused on a campaign to a fight against covid19 and has come up with cost-effective PPE kits which can be used in auxiliary medical units. The campaign aims to provide basic protection to the remote medical units.
On winning IAF award it has boosted the team’s confidence and hopes to get support from various organizations to build their expertise.
The organization has a simple vision to narrow the gap between rural and urban regions by providing sustainable solutions through education and awareness.
After working on multiple projects with different organizations, local, state and central government and Mr. Shinde sums up his experience on one thing that is to ‘never give up on what you believe in.’
