Shubham Specialty Products (India) Pvt. Ltd. is the brainchild of Mr. Ram Maharshi who started it as a proprietorship firm in 2002 and in 2011 converted it into a Private Limited Company. Mr. Maharshi had previously worked in senior decision-making responsibilities before starting his own ventures and has a total hands-on experience of more than 34 years.
The aim to start Shubham was to develop multi-step and complicated chemistries for Specialty segment in the R&D and scale it up to Bulk production to cater clients in India and Worldwide. Accordingly, the Research center was started in 2008 with only 2 chemists under the guidance of a PhD scientist. This research facility was upgraded in 2011 with 6 chemists. In 2019, the company’s R&D facility is comprising of more than 20 chemists working under 4 PhD. The technical team has developed the complete technology for more than 20 products out of which 12 products have been Commercialized and Exported. The main Exporting countries are Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, The Netherlands, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, China and The USA and the target is to export across the Globe by 2025. Current list of clients includes Multinationals like Dystar, Lanxess, Hunstman, Inabata, Chori, Sumitomo, Ofichem among others.
The company started off with product range of Dyes and Pigment intermediates and has now moved further into Veterinary API and intermediates for Veterinary, Pharmaceutical, Polymers, Electronic chemicals and Agro chemicals. The future plans are to not only produce the intermediates but move further into the value chain and manufacture pharmaceutical drugs and API.
Since Mr. Maharshi did not have his own production facility, he was undertaking majority of the products contract manufactured in Mr. Sanjay Nerkar’s joint facility. Mr. Sanjay Nerkar started his working career with reputed companies named BASF, GHARDA and MAFATLAL before starting his own Production Facility. This was the beginning of their Business and Friendship association.
In 2018, Mr. Maharshi and Mr. Nerkar took a decision to join forces together and let the friendship of the 1st generation amalgamate into the next generation, who is now well qualified, and explore immense business prospects together under the Shubham banner.
The R&D team has now gained stupendous confidence of taking on more products and are now putting their own bigger standalone R&D facility which will be starting from Q1 2022. Further the company is coming up with 2 new manufacturing facilities in Kolhapur and Sayakha which will be zero liquid discharge (ZLD) facility in order to take care of the Environment.
The company is accredited with ISO 9001:2015, FDA, GMP and is a government recognized export house.
