Mr. Krishna Mohan Dixit

Achiever's Success Story

“Krishna Mohan Dixit, Chief Operating Officer, Soma Roadis”

Mr. Dixit was born and groomed in the holy city Mathura in the state of Uttar Pradesh. After completing the schooling from Mathura, he moved to Delhi to pursue his graduation in Civil Engineering from the Institute of Engineers (India).

Over the years in pursuit of knowledge & education and while working in the infrastructure industry, he did his Post-Graduation in Project Management from MIT (Pune). Further through virtual medium, he completed the courses of Advance Corporate Strategies from IIM Bangalore, Sustainable Management from IBMI (International Business Management Institute, Berlin, Germany), Contract Management from IIM Ahmedabad, and Leadership foundation Principles from Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.

He has spent 30 years of his professional career in the Road Infrastructure Development in India. He has extensively worked on Project Development & Management, Business Development and Investment in Highway Sector in India with EPC, BOT, and Investment (Fund) Companies.

In the year 2021, The Institute of Engineers (India) which is a prestigious institute established in the year of 1920 and was incorporated by Royal Chartered in the year of 1935, awarded him the “Fellow Membership” and designated as “Chartered Engineer (India)” for my extensive contribution and work in Highway construction and Development.

Presently, he is working with Soma-Roadis as COO. Prior to this, he has worked with large EPC & BOT Companies in India Viz. L&T, HCC, Tata Realty & GVK, wherein he has led multiple Mega Highway Construction and O&M projects.

In last 30 years, there are many landmark projects that he has been a part of. One such project is Mumbai Pune Expressway, which has changed the future of Indian Road industry.

During the stint at Mumbai Pune Expressway, he worked with India’s most esteemed organization Larsen and Tubro (1998-2001). It was a challenging project. Some of the salient features in the work stretch are:

  1. India’s first six-lane concrete, high-speed, access controlled tolled expressway.
  2. The total section of the highway falls in the hilly terrain
  3. There were 2 large tunnels including Ghat section of Khandala.

After the stint at Mumbai Pune, he moved to the state of Orissa to work on 53 km long 4/6 laning rigid pavement project with L&T. The project stretch was from Baleshwar to Laxman Nath.

After completing the project in Orissa, he moved to the home state of Uttar Pradesh for development of Allahabad Bypass Project with HCC ltd. as Dy. Project Manager. It was a green field rigid pavement access-controlled highway and it is the Asia’s longest bypass in terms of length.

The project length passed through the holy place of “Shringverpur village’’ situated at the bank of river Ganga. According to the ancient epic “Ramayana’’ Lord Rama, his brother Lakshman and consort Sita stayed for a night in the village before going to the forest on exile.

In the current organization i.e., Soma-Roadis ,  he designated as an SPV Head of the Six Laning of NH-1 (Now NH-44) section from Panipat to Jalandhar in the state of Haryana & Punjab. This is the longest highway project in India as a single work package under PPP(BOT) model. And the highway is the longest national highway in India.

With the advancement in technology in the civil engineering domain a lot of changes has occurred and as a result task which seems difficult in earlier days has become quite easier now. Earlier ordinary sensor pavers have now been replaced by modern pavers with electronically operated sensors. Now we have modern lab for ensuring the quality standard, highly advanced construction equipment in all sectors be it transportation engineering, Structural Engineering or Water Resource Engineering. Recently a Hyderabad based company has built 25.4 Km road in less than 18 hours and a Gujrat based company finished laying approximately paved approx. 15000 Cum concreting in the road (Rigid pavement) in 24 hours. These achievements created world record and these breaking tasks could be possible due to the use of advanced technology and hope create more and more records for Infrastructural growth and user’s safety through extensive work experience and acquired knowledge in this domain.
