As the founder of Valence Growth Partners, there is nothing more gratifying for Kartik than the journey of taking a venture from idea to scale. Be it a start-up with just a prototype or a global VC looking to raise their first fund, VGP provides catalytic support by building meaningful bonds to create impact.
The spark to build this company came from Kartik’s experience being both, an operator and an investor; having experienced first-hand the information asymmetry in the venture capital ecosystem. On the one hand, founders lack the knowledge and resources they require to partner with the right investors that can help them take their companies to the next level. On the other hand, funders struggle to filter the noise and identify the right targets to invest in, because of a high degree of fragmentation and misinformation in the market. VGP is an ecosystem enabler that aims to bridge these gaps and drive combined growth for both, founders and investors.
Before the inception of VGP, Kartik was a venture capital investor at Omidyar Network, responsible for sourcing and evaluating tech investments globally across FinTech, SaaS, and Blockchain. Apart from technology, he has always been fascinated by the consumer brands space, having started his career as part of the founding team of a category-leading D2C ice-cream brand and then working with a $52B revenue brewing company during his time at KPMG.
Kartik is an economics graduate from the London School of Economics (LSE). When he isn’t advising or investing in start-ups, you can find Kartik trying to discover new craft beers or reading about how he can brew one at home.
