He holds a rich and diversified corporate experience starting from Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs; spreading to working for “Make in India” and “Start-up India” initiatives under Invest India, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Government of India. He has also had a privilege of working in the core advisory team of Hon’ble Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman during one of his stints.

With 10+ years of corporate experience ranging from MNCs to Government and pseudo government organisations, Govinda is currently working towards enhancing his family business of Garments manufacturing. He, with his family, has built a company that constantly strives towards developing a deep understanding of customer needs, satisfying them with the right products. A firm believer in core business fundamentals and strong ethical values, Taparia family have built an efficient, large, and profitable enterprise that is highly respected by customers, partners, and employees alike.

Govinda believes in agility, along with his family business he is actively involved in the functioning of Thrust Fashion LLP. This venture is the brainchild of his brother Mr. Chandan Taparia and a close friend, Mr Harsh Rungta. This joint venture was initiated to explore the export market for garments and the company has witnessed tremendous success in the same. The inception of Covid-19 led to the founders exploring and brainstorming on newer ideas which led to the addition of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the company’s product portfolio.

The financial year 2020-21 had been a turbulent journey for the world, but the agility and open mindedness of the founding members helped the company smoothly float through, and in the process helping the country with supply of PPEs (including medical suits and masks) in the troubled times. They made supplies across various Government tenders and hospitals, both directly and indirectly and received awards and recognitions in the process.

Thrust Fashion is witnessing remarkable demand for its products in the export market. It has also tasted success in the new entrant category of PPEs. The company now intends to launch its products online to leverage the ever-growing e-marketplaces. The multi-disciplinary approach and far sightedness of the founding team, backed by agility and hard work will most certainly lead to remarkable success for the company.

Working in a sector which has remained unorganised for long and trying to get output from the team is a tough task. Govinda and his team are working hard to become a role model in the industry by staying ahead of the curve and in a way leading the development in the region. As they say, the story has just begun.
