He has been part of the set up, and built the MSME vertical for RBL Bank. He created the success at Swadhaar FinServe Pvt.Ltd. having driven both business and extensive expansion to build the company as a bench mark model of dedicated Business Correspondent. He has always been at the heart of the Indian MSME market with NBFCs and Banks like Fullerton India Credit Company Ltd., Sahayata Microfinance Pvt. Ltd., Vistaar Financial Services Pvt. Ltd., and successfully transformed businesses to meet new market demands & sustain a profitable trajectory. 

With his extensive experience in lending to the ‘under-served’ & ‘unserved’, Madhan’s vision is to build a large institution to service the Micro Small and Medium Entrepreneurs (MSME) in India. Owing to this vision, he started Prayaan Capital in December 2018 and received the RBI Certificate of Registration in June 2019 for conduction business as an NBFC. Prayaan which translates into “Journey” is an institution that co-travels with its customers in the journey of Financial Inclusion and to impact the lives of this segment. Whilst, MSMEs make up one of the most dynamic and vibrant sectors of the Indian economy, contribute significantly to the nation’s employment & gross domestic product (GDP), studies show that MSMEs are yet to be formalized or registered. Hence their contribution remains well below its potential & largely under-recognized, and this proves to be a significant barrier to their growth. It is these challenges that Prayaan aims to help overcome through formal access to credit and timely support for building MSMEs to their full potential.
