An innovator and a thought leader, Aswini Thota is a hands-on Analytics and Artificial Intelligence professional with over ten years of experience in building products and delivering services to empower enterprise-wide functions such as sales, marketing, supply chain, and HR with predictive and prescriptive solutions.

As a data leader, Aswini provided analytical solutions to several top-tier multinational companies throughout his career. Aswini’s diverse experience in data analysis, data engineering, business intelligence, and artificial intelligence uniquely positioned him to develop several innovative business applications and solve some of the organization’s most challenging problems. 

 

Behind his success lies immense hard work, perseverance, and thirst to know more. Aswini hails from a small South Indian town of Gudivada. He is fortunate to have parents that invested in his future by providing quality education. Under the upbringing and guidance of his Lecturer Dad and Teacher Mom, Aswini finished his B.Tech in India. His passion for solving state-of-the-art problems using data led him to pursue higher education in the US. Aswini holds two Master’s degrees from the University of North Texas and Southern Methodist University. 

Aswini’s eminence in “AI for Business” is supported by the business-critical problems he solved using data and his experience in providing AI solutions to all enterprise business units.

Increasing Diversity and Inclusion using AI:

Diversity and inclusion (D&I) are more than policies, programs, or headcounts. Having a diverse workforce helps organizations to build products and services that can cater to various customer needs. Aswini conceived and led a strategic project that enabled organizations to increase diversity using data-driven insights.

Improving firms’ retention:

A well-laid-out strategy to retain top employees is critical for the continued success of any organization. Aswini created an innovative AI project to understand the attributes and conditions that contribute to employee attrition. These AI and ML techniques helped organizations 

to craft strategies to retain and grow talent.

Cold start forecasting:

Cold-start or new product introduction forecasting is the process of understanding the sales demand for net new products. Aswini developed a robust “Deep Learning” approach to understand the new product demand before launching the product. This helped organizations to take a proactive approach towards manufacturing and distribution, resulting in improved customer experiences and bottom-line revenue impact.

Apart from his day job, Aswini volunteers his time to set the agenda for the growing field of “AI for Business.” He regularly – authors research and thought leadership articles, mentors citizen data scientists, reviews papers for top publications, and talks about emerging topics in AI.
