As a beginner he commenced his career in the Shopping Mall Industry in Line Investments & Property LLC (Part of LuLu Group); in the Leasing Department. In 10 years of his contribution to this organisation he has been successful in managing lease and been part of the opening of 13projects; 4.5Million + Sq. Ft GLA.

From July 2015 to July 2017 he has served as a  GM- Business Developmentin the organisation. He has been heading the Retail Real Estate expansion for Apparel Group which is  one of the largest Retail company in the Middle East who operates 60+ International brands with over 1800+ stores operational in the Middle East, namely – Tim Hortens, Aldo, Tommy Hilfiger, CK, LC Waikiki, Skechers, New Balance and so on.

He honed the hat of a Director – Real Estate for the next two years. He spearheaded Real Estate expansion for Americana franchise brands (KFC/Pizza Hut/Krispy Kreme/TGIF) for MENA region. Responsible for delivery of new store opening strategies. 

Mr Gopal joined Nakheel in Jan 2019 ; one of the largest Govt Real Estate companies in UAE; as General Manager- Leasing and was handling 60% of Nakheel Mall projects. During the Pandemic period of 2020; he headed and leased the following projects – Souk Warsan, Nad AL Sheba Pavilion, Circle Mall in JVC and Souk AL Marfa in Deira Island. In 2021; all the above projects were leased with maximum occupancy and opened making the largest ever portfolio Nakheel had opened with in a year. With the success of delivering such huge projects and spear heading them; the company promoted him to Director – Leasing. He is the only Indian who has achieved such position within the Nakheel Management in this department.
