Aman is a Marketing and Technology professional and currently the Director of Marketing and Technology at Tribe Student Accommodation

His experience with technology, passion for design and his creative strength with Marketing has helped Tribe achieve commendable growth results and a fantastic consumer experience. Being a part of the founding team of Tribe Student Accommodation and the CMO & CTO, his vision of creating an international brand for student accommodation and his excellence in digital marketing has helped Tribe become one of the fastest growing brands in this sector for two years running. Tribe Student Accommodation has won multiple accolades including Student Housing of the Year 2019 (Estate Awards) & India’s Fastest Growing Brands (Real Estate) – Asia One Awards 2019-2020. 

Being an entrepreneur was always in his blood, with hIs dad being an extremely progressive marketing guru and a visionary in real estate products. He was always a creative person with a knack for technology. Digital marketing and brand design came naturally to me hence and pushed me to pursue a master’s degree from the University of Warwick in the UK after completing my engineering degree in Computer Science. 

After working for a couple of years in some of India’s top digital marketing teams, He started his own marketing agency in 2017 that specialised in providing digital marketing and brand services for start-ups with a new age design twist. They began Tribe in 2018 borne out of a self-experienced problem of finding good quality and safe accommodation in India. His experience living as a student abroad was considerably different from that in India. The quality of life that students lived in the UK enabled so much comfort, focus and creativity due to not having to deal with every day issues like food, privacy and quality of life. 

The idea of Tribe was to completely disrupt a centuries old concept of hostel living and shared accommodation. Everything was built around community, safety and quality. They wanted to create an international professional experience with a progressive thought process like doing away with curfew timings and having Co-ed hostels. They believe that the student is a customer and they are a hospitality firm; they are not guardians and wardens. It is theIr prerogative to provide the best possible living experience to their customers everywhere with the most convenient moving-in process. Every single hostel of ours currently live has won an award for being the best designed hostel in the country – this enabled us to provide a never-before-seen product to the market. Couple that with a world-class management team and an international-standard brand – they are on their way to sole a huge problem for students across the country while providing the best living experience in the segment. It is for this reason that Tribe is usually always in extremely high demand and sold out in most locations. 

“Tribe now has 4 live locations, 3 in Pune and 1 in Mumbai with a total of 550 beds in operation and another 1000 beds due to start in 2021. Our expansion is extremely calculated with the correct locations, the perfect facilities and targeting the right market segments in Tier 1 and Tier 2 student cities. The daily experience of a student is paramount to us, and will always be so.
