During work stay in US, happened to experience how bad Black Friday can get from a customer experience standpoint, and then seeing similar experiences at the top retail brands in India motivated him to start Perpule.

Their vision is to make offline retail better by driving new and enhanced models of engagement and redefining commerce that happens at the billing counter. Commerce is a layer on top of payments fundamentally necessary to complete transactions and they are on a mission to democratize it. Focused on solving the key problems in retail to make offline retail experiences super awesome & memorable.

Perpule is one of the fastest-growing retail tech/commerce companies in India and is on a mission to build the commerce platform for India. Perpule gives the control of offline commerce in the hands of customers by enabling self-checkouts and self-ordering solutions for offline stores, outlets, malls & cafeterias. This improves the shopping experience of customers and solves the problem of queues at checkout counters. Customers use it to discover products, scan barcodes, get all the offers and pricing information for the products and can also check out and pay in the app itself. Perpule also offers UltraPOS which is a platform-independent, form factor independent POS billing system that can enable anytime, anywhere billing. 

It is a cloud-based SaaS product that eliminates the need for bulky servers and computers in the store. UltraPOS will enable offline stores to reduce billing counter size by up to 40% and help increase sales and revenue through an AI/data-driven approach to dynamic offers, cross-sell, and upsell. It is currently being used by retail brands such as Vishal Mega Mart, Big Bazaar, HyperCITY, Foodhall, More, SPAR, V2 Retail, Spencer’s and many more.

At Perpule, they believe there is a better way to shop offline. A digital, convenient and less invasive way where offline customers are earned rather than acquired.

With the organized retail market valued at $100B in India, technology combined with content and great accessibility is bringing the average in-store /cafeteria queueing time of 15 minutes down to 2 minutes! It’s a fantastic experience to use Perpule app to checkout/order.

They received their first ever external funding by Kalaari capital in the year 2016. Since then, they ‘ve sky-rocketed from 1 store to 100+ stores and 0 cafeterias to multiple cafeterias, including Indian IT giant, Infosys.

Perpule has always believed in Right now they are working on numerous projects like the Perpule E-Commerce+ and The StoreSe Mini apps PlugIn to help Brands go online in this pandemic.

Beyond this is our new stream of experiments under the umbrella of StoreSe which has two main components

StoreSe:
● ECommerce+ – This is the latest offering which is gaining speed quite fast and is helping large retailers set up their end to end ecommerce offering for their customers. This is an end to end ecommerce platform for retailers since all of them have realized that ecommerce would have to make up for the delta loss of revenues coming in from low footfalls at the stores given the times we are in. More Megastore was the first customer to use this and a few more are just signing up now as we speak

● Mini Apps – This is the ecommerce platform & the shopify plugins they have built to help brands set up their ecommerce storefronts inside high traffic platforms like Phonepe, Paytm etc. Brands like The Many Company, Towness, Budli, Man Matters, Greencure, Himalaya, Arata, etc. are the ones using this offering to set up their Mini Apps ECommerce+ came in as a result of the pull from the market around ecommerce & every single retailer trying to go online & serve their customers to make up for the loss of footfall.

The pandemic & the lockdowns have been very detrimental to offline retailers and their business is hit massively. ECommerce+ is our attempt beyond our regular business to help retailers set up a platform which can drive & contribute revenues for them in these tough times.
