CV has the unique distinction of having taught the subject to more than 12000 Indian nationals in 12 years.

He was instrumental in setting up India’s first high-tech soil-less greenhouse in Bangalore in 2010 and was a supplier to Bharti-Walmart who was conferred preferred vendor status, a very hard feat to achieve.

During his 20 years in the field, CV has been a speaker at several national and international seminars & conferences and has the unique distinction of having presented a lead paper in the arena of protected soilless cultivation at the University of Agricultural Sciences in Dharwad, Karnataka in the year 2017. He was the only speaker who had no formal agricultural degree amongst the other well-known scientists who also presented their papers. The same university also presented him the Jai Jawan Jai Kisan Award in the very same year.

CV believes that skill is the most important factor in becoming a successful soilless grower. He is a passionate proponent of using the most inexpensive methods in growing horticultural crops.

As he always says “know-how is of no use till we do-how and show-how”. He is a great believer in applied science.

For CV, vision is not just eyesight, its beyond what the eyes can see, his work is what makes stories of legends. His efforts are beyond the realms of the material and he has made many a great sacrifices and trade-offs to realise his dream so that generations ahead people may benefit in good measure.
