This has been proved by demonstrated success in Financial Consultancy, Insurance, and running a listed Non-Banking Finance Company as a co-owner with her father. This NBFC was possibly one of the very few NBFCs which received a NO DEBT Certificate from the Reserve Bank of India. She is not afraid to look at new business ventures and to effect improvements of all types and complexities, which has been her forte.
Philanthropic Ventures
She is a humanitarian devoted to the welfare of mankind. Her engagement in charity involves making chocolates, rusks, cakes , and assorted biscuits (La Bingo) whose revenue is channelized as a contribution to the United Nations World Food Programme devoted to children’s welfare (recently awarded the Nobel Prize 2020).
Management of a school for the less privileged children age 3-5 years in a Harijan Basti in New Delhi which prepares them to seek admissions in a good school. Running a free Homeopathy dispensary as a part of an Arya Samaj Mandir, again in New Delhi, providing consultation and medicines made available, free of cost.
Working to assist the New Delhi Leper Colony by providing essentials on a regular basis. For her contribution to Society, she was honored with the prestigious Global Human Rights Protection Award in December 2019. Amidst the hardship of the Covid-19 pandemic, she has been working for the last seven months providing food and essentials to Slum Children and in the Leper Colony on a daily basis.
In recognition of all the above efforts, Dr. Sonya Suri has been awarded the Indian Achievers ’ Award, 2020”. Her contribution to society as a whole still has no limits or boundaries and is solely guided by the principles of “Let us be human to all beings”.
