Introducing Dr. S.Guruprasad who after working over 34 years as a scientist in DRDO, started the “Innovation Driven Design House” INNOGP TECHNOLOGIES PVT LTD. First, to quench his thirst for creativity in defence engineering systems and Secondly, to help Industry to come out of the comforts of Status Quo.
After working on very exciting systems of DRDO and after carrying out scientific research for over three decades, he decided to continue to utilise his knowledge to its full potential in Nation Building after retiring from DRDO. Dr. S.Guruprasad is a sports enthusiast and a marathoner.
Dr. S.Guruprasad did his B.E., in Mechanical Engineering from Mysore University and his Masters Degree in Machine Design from Bangalore University. He did his Ph.D from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, Powai, Mumbai.
Dr. Guruprasad joined RDE(Engineers), a DRDO Laboratory in the year 1986 as a Scientist and contributed in many R&D activities of national importance. He worked on many Military Bridging projects viz. SARVATRA, Bridge Layer Tank (BLT), Mountain Foot Bridge, Modular Bridging System etc.. All the Bridging Systems have been inducted into Service and number of Industries were given Transfer of Technology. He also worked on Missile Launchers related to Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme (IGMDP) led by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. He used Finite Element Method and other simulation techniques extensively to simulate Launch Dynamics to ensure Safe & Successful take from Launch Vehicles from the Launcher. He carried out significant research in the areas of Underwater Shock Dynamics, Blast & Impact resistant structures and composite structures. He made significant contributions as Project Director BrahMos responsible for Weapon Launch Systems of BrahMos. The Mobile Autonomous Launcher and the Universal Vertical Launcher Module for Naval Ships are original Designs with novel technologies resulting in number of International Patents to his credit.
Dr. Guruprasad is expert in Computational Structural Mechanics, System Dynamics and Composite Structures. He has many technical publications to his credit in various National and International Journals and conferences. He has 30 patents to his credit, some of them international (USA, Russia etc..).
