Mr. Venkata Revunuru

Mr. Venkata Revunuru’s journey reflects the spirit of modern Indian entrepreneurship: using technology to solve real problems, building proudly “Made in India” solutions, and inspiring others to pursue innovation with purpose

In today’s world of global connectivity, people often remain disconnected from what is happening right around them. Recognizing this gap, Mr. Venkata Revunuru, Founder & CEO of Snaplocal and a technologist-turned-entrepreneur, envisioned a platform that would bring locals closer together within their respective areas and localities. That vision became Snaplocal, India’s first hyperlocal social app designed to strengthen real-world local connections.

Launched with the mission of empowering communities, Snaplocal enables people to share and discover local news, stories, jobs, buy-and-sell opportunities, safety alerts, and events — all within a customizable radius of 1–30 km. More than just another social network, Snaplocal is a digital hub for local areas that gives every local person a voice and helps communities thrive through trusted connections.

His journey to Snaplocal was driven by a deep belief that technology should solve real problems at the grassroots level. With a strong background in technology and leadership, he combined his expertise with entrepreneurial drive to create a product that meets the everyday needs of people in India’s towns and cities. His leadership is rooted in innovation, inclusion, and impact, with a focus on creating scalable solutions for local communities.

The app has already gained recognition as a “Made in India” innovation aligned with the Vocal for Local movement, and its early adoption has been especially strong in the Telugu states.

Snaplocal’s growth strategy includes expanding across multiple Indian cities while continuing to refine its features for hyperlocal commerce, networking, and safety alerts. The vision is to reach 500,000+ users in the near term and to establish Snaplocal as the go-to app for people in local areas across India.

This pioneering work has not gone unnoticed. He has been honored with prestigious recognitions such as the Global Recognition Award 2025 and the Indian Achievers’ Award 2025 for Entrepreneur of the Year, underscoring both his entrepreneurial leadership and Snaplocal’s social impact. These honors highlight how Snaplocal is not just a startup but a movement to redefine how local areas engage and collaborate.

Looking ahead, he is committed to scaling Snaplocal into a platform that empowers millions. His vision is to create digitally connected, self-reliant localities, where small businesses can grow, locals can stay informed and safe, and communities can come together around shared values. With a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Electrical Engineering and an Executive Program in Global Business Management, she brings both technical depth and strategic perspective to product leadership.

That mindset led her to transition into roles as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, and eventually Product Manager. Each step gave her a broader perspective — from capturing business requirements to shaping product strategy and leading cross-functional teams.

Over the years, she has spent most of her career solving Human Capital Management (HCM) problems, enabling organizations to manage and engage their workforce more effectively. Alongside HCM, she also tackled challenges in Life Sciences, Healthcare, and Legal, leveraging innovative technologies to improve processes, compliance, and outcomes.

Sandesha Global Ventures LLP is a Mumbai-based boutique investment banking advisory firm specializing in global project curation aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Environmental Social Governance (ESG) frameworks. The company focuses on facilitating sustainable growth in key sectors such as Climate Change, Healthcare, Education, Public Infrastructure, BFSI, and Technology, typically working on projects valued at $5 million worldwide.

At the heart of his approach: transforming capital from a blunt instrument into a precision tool, by embedding Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards directly into the design of financial products. In his hands, “impact” is measurable, trackable, and fundamentally bankable.

The Funding Gap Problem

SMEs and MSMEs are the lifeblood of local economies—creating jobs, building resilience, and driving innovation. Yet, they are chronically underfunded. The usual culprits: limited collateral, volatile cash flows, and opaque risks. While traditional lenders see warning signs, he sees untapped potential and mispriced risk. By leveraging real-world, operational data, he ties the cost of capital to the actual improvements business owners can deliver, not just their credit histories. This approach empowers both the lender and the founder, aligning financial returns with social and environmental progress.

SDG and ESG as Deal Architecture

In Sandesha Global Ventures’ model, SDG and ESG criteria are not afterthoughts—they form the very blueprint of the transaction.

  • SDG mapping: Each company’s business model is mapped to specific SDGs—such as water reuse, clean energy, or decent work—then translated into quarterly milestones that align with existing business metrics.
  • ESG discipline: Key aspects like governance, supply chain ethics, worker well-being, and safety are embedded as operational routines. The result: measurable improvements in productivity, retention, and reliability.

Tools That Reward Progress, Not Perfection

Sandesha Global Ventures’ financial structures are designed to be intuitive for founders, transparent for investors, and robust against manipulation.

  • Impact-linked loans: Lower interest rates are triggered when businesses meet verified sustainability and safety targets.
  • Revenue-based finance: Repayments flex with monthly revenues, helping businesses manage cash flow through seasonal ups and downs.
  • Supply-chain anchored capital: Financing is tied to ESG-compliant procurement, creating immediate incentives for better practices.
  • Blended capital stacks: First-loss guarantees attract commercial lenders once SDG/ESG metrics have de-risked execution.
  • Performance insurance: Parametric products cover key risks like weather or outages, stabilizing fragile margins.

Measurement Investors Trust, Founders Can Use

Effective measurement is the bridge between intent and impact. Sandesha Global Venture emphasizes streamlined data collection and actionable insights.

  • Few material KPIs: 4–6 critical metrics per deal, such as kWh saved or injury-free days, directly tied to costs or revenues.
  • Digital MRV: Smart meters and geotagged audits provide time-stamped, tamper- proof evidence, cutting disputes and underwriting delays.
  • Board-ready dashboards: Visual summaries (green/amber/red) keep all stakeholders aligned on impact and course corrections.

Why This Closes the Gap

With capital and impact incentives aligned, everyone wins, creating a Win-Win approach has been part of Dr.Iyer’s strategy for the last 25 years and this has transcended within

Sandesha Global Ventures, which he manages currently:

  • Risk drops: Operational discipline reduces defaults.
  • Return improves: Efficiency gains fund repayments organically.
  • Access expands: Verified ESG performance attracts new buyers and financing.
  • Trust compounds: Transparent rules turn success into scalable programs.

The Road Ahead

His core belief is pragmatic: embed impact into financial flows, and capital will follow. Under his leadership at Sandesha Global Ventures, SDG and ESG principles become practical financial technologies—tools that de-risk lending, reward responsible operators, and unlock sustainable growth for the enterprises that power our economies.

PM Modi in Japan: “Make in India, Make for the World”

PM Modi Japan visit 2025

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Tokyo on Friday for a two-day official visit to Japan from August 29 to 30. He was warmly welcomed with Gujarati greetings and the Gayatri Mantra recited by Japanese citizens. He will attend the 15th India-Japan Annual Summit and hold talks with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba. The discussions are expected to focus on doubling Japanese investments in India and enhancing cooperation in trade, defence, technology, and investment. PM Modi will also meet Japanese industrialists and political leaders. On the second day, both leaders will visit a semiconductor facility in Sendai.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s address at the India-Japan Economic Forum

Your Excellency, Prime Minister Ishiba,

business leaders of India and Japan,

ladies and gentlemen,

Namaskar.

Konnichiwa!

I have just arrived in Tokyo this morning. I am very happy that my visit is starting with the giants of the business world.

And in that way, there are many people with whom I have personal acquaintance. Even when I was in Gujarat, and even when I came from Gujarat to Delhi. I have had close acquaintances with many of you. I am happy that I have got the opportunity to meet all of you today.

I especially thank Prime Minister Ishiba for being associated with this forum. I congratulate him for his valuable speeches.

Friends,

Japan has always been an important partner in India’s development journey. From metro to manufacturing, from semiconductors to start-ups, our partnership in every field has become a symbol of mutual trust.

Japanese companies have invested more than 40 billion dollars in India. In the last two years alone, private investment of 13 billion dollars has been made. JBIC says that India is the most promising destination. JETRO says that 80 percent of companies want to expand in India, and 75 percent are already profitable.

That is, in India, capital does not just grow, it multiplies!

Friends, you all are well aware of the unprecedented transformation of India in the last eleven years. Today, there is political stability in India. There is economic stability. There is transparency in policies, there is predictability. Today, India is the fastest growing major economy in the world. And, very soon, it is going to become the third largest economy in the world.

India is contributing 18% to global growth. India’s capital markets are giving good returns. There is also a strong banking sector. There is low inflation and low interest rates. There are forex reserves of about 700 billion dollars. Behind this change is our approach of “reform, perform and transform”. In 2017, we started one nation-one tax. Now work is underway to bring new and major reforms in it.

A few weeks ago, our Parliament also approved the new and simplified Income Tax Code.

Our reforms are not limited to the tax system only. We have emphasized the ease of doing business. We have made a provision of single digital window approval for business. We have rationalized 45,000 compliances. A high-level committee has been formed on de-regulation to speed up this process.

Sensitive sectors like defense and space have been opened for the private sector. Now we are also opening the nuclear energy sector.

Friends, behind these reforms is our resolve to build a developed India. We have commitment, conviction, and strategy. And the world has not only recognized it but also appreciated it.

S&P Global has upgraded India’s credit rating after two decades.

The world is not just watching India, it is counting on India.

Friends, the report of the India-Japan Business Forum was just presented. The business deals between the companies were described in great detail. I congratulate all of you for this progress.

For our partnership, I would also like to humbly put forward some suggestions before you.

The first is manufacturing. Our partnership in the auto sector has been very successful. And the Prime Minister described it in great detail. Together, we can repeat the same magic in batteries, robotics, semi-conductors, ship-building and nuclear energy. Together, we can make a significant contribution to the development of the Global South, especially Africa.

I urge all of you – Come, Make in India, Make for the world. The success stories of Suzuki and Daikin can become your success stories too.

The second is technology and innovation. Japan is a “tech powerhouse”. And India is a “talent powerhouse”. India has taken bold and ambitious initiatives in AI, semiconductors, quantum computing, biotech and space. Japan’s technology and India’s talent together can lead the tech revolution of this century.

The third area is Green Energy Transition. India is rapidly moving towards the target of 500 gigawatts of renewable energy by 2030. We have also set a target of 100 gigawatts of nuclear power by 2047. Be it solar cells or green hydrogen, there are immense possibilities for partnership.

An agreement has been signed between India and Japan on Joint Credit Mechanism. Using this, cooperation can be done in building a clean and green future.

Fourth is Next-Gen Infrastructure. In the last decade, India has made unprecedented progress in next generation mobility and logistics infrastructure. The capacity of our ports has doubled. There are more than 160 airports. A 1000 kilometer long metro line has been built. Work is going on on Mumbai and Ahmedabad high speed rail with the cooperation of Japan.

But our journey does not stop here. Japan’s excellence and India’s scale can create a perfect partnership.

Fifth is Skill Development and People-to-People Ties. India’s skilled young talent has the capability to meet global needs. Japan can also benefit from this. You train Indian talent in Japanese language and soft skills, and together prepare a “Japan-ready” workforce. A shared workforce will lead to shared prosperity.

In the end I would like to say this – India and Japan’s partnership is strategic and smart. Powered by economic logic, we have turned shared interests into shared prosperity.

India is the springboard for Japanese businesses to the Global South. Together, we will shape the Asian Century for stability, growth, and prosperity.

With these words, I express my gratitude to Prime Minister Ishiba ji and all of you.

Arigatou Gozaimasu!

Thank you very much.

Vision Beyond Sight: Ms. Meghana Aduri’s Mission to Empower Visually Impaired and Tribal Students in India

In a world where accessibility is often an afterthought, Ms. Meghana Aduri, a youth advocate and founder of Vision Beyond Sight, is ensuring no student is left behind. Her grassroots initiative bridges the gap between marginalized communities and inclusive education, empowering visually impaired students and tribal children in India.

Inspired by her visually impaired music teacher, she began converting inaccessible print textbooks into digital formats. Today, she has digitized over 140,000 pages of school, college, and competitive exam content for print-disabled students. But she soon realized that content alone wasn’t enough—students needed the right tools to access it.

This led to Seedlings for Education, a community fundraiser where she organized plant sales and taught violin lessons to sponsor assistive devices like screen-reader-enabled laptops and smartphones. These efforts have empowered over 400 visually impaired students to learn independently.

Understanding that financial barriers hinder many from attending premier institutions like IIT and IIM, she launched a scholarship program covering tuition and hostel fees. With a unique “pay it forward” model, beneficiaries pledge to support another student once they are established, creating a cycle of empowerment.

Beyond urban educational access, she extends her impact to tribal villages like Allampally, teaching violin and coordinating access to educational resources. For these underserved regions, her efforts are about more than skills—they are about confidence, independence, and inclusion.

Her work has earned her global recognition, including being named a Top 100 Emerging Innovator by Horn Entrepreneurship at the University of Delaware, receiving special honors from the City of Frisco, and becoming a semi-finalist in the Ashoka Foundation and Taco Bell Foundation’s Ambition Accelerator.

Through Vision Beyond Sight, she is proving that youth-led, community-driven innovation can create lasting change.

CM Rekha Gupta Budget 2025 in Delhi

Delhi Budget 2025: CM Rekha Gupta Unveils ₹1 Lakh Crore Budget

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta presented the FY26 Budget outlining ten focus areas, including cleaning Yamuna, economic empowerment of women, infrastructure development, electricity, roads, and water. Describing it as a “historic budget,” CM Gupta emphasized that it serves as a blueprint to make the national capital “Atmanirbhar” (self-reliant). The first budget of the newly-formed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government in the national capital, amounting to a record ₹1 lakh crore, reflects a significant 31.5% increase from the previous year.

“This is not an ordinary Budget, this Budget is the first step to develop Delhi which was ruined in the past 10 years. Delhi went down in every aspect of development in the past decade.” she said.

Among the major announcements, ₹2,144 crore has been allocated for the PM Jan Arogya Yojana, while ₹5,100 crore will fund the Mahila Samridhi Yojana, which provides ₹2,500 per month to eligible women. To improve connectivity in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR), ₹1,000 crore has been set aside, with ₹3,843 crore allocated for road and bridge infrastructure. The government will also install 50,000 CCTV cameras across the city to enhance women’s safety. Additionally, ₹100 crore will be used to establish 100 Atal Canteens to provide affordable meals, and ₹696 crore has been reserved for developing slum clusters and JJ colonies.

A significant portion of the budget—₹9,000 crore—has been allocated for clean drinking water and sanitation. This includes ₹500 crore for repairing and upgrading sewer treatment plants (STPs) and ₹250 crore to replace old sewer lines. The long-standing issue of cleaning the Yamuna River will receive ₹500 crore, with plans to ensure only treated water enters the river through the decentralization of 40 STPs. In the education sector, ₹100 crore has been allocated to open new “CM Shri Schools,” inspired by the PM Shri Schools, while ₹750 crore will provide free laptops to 1,200 students passing Class 10.

Other key allocations include ₹210 crore for expecting mothers, offering nutrient kits and an allowance of ₹21,000. The transport sector has received ₹12,952 crore, and the government will replace pink tickets with special cards to provide free bus rides for women and curb corruption. A ₹100 crore pilot project will focus on removing overhead electrical lines and shifting high-tension power lines underground. To combat pollution, ₹300 crore has been allocated, with an additional ₹506 crore designated for the environment and forest department. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has been granted ₹6,897 crore, and the government plans to construct a new jail on the city’s outskirts to ease congestion at Tihar Jail. In a cultural initiative, ₹30 crore has been set aside to host an International Film Festival in the capital.
