Hayagrīva, a one-woman/person of color, run company, was founded in 2017 by Deepika Sriraman, a commerce graduate with an MS in Taxation from Golden Gate University, San Francisco. 

She started the company to champion self-love and self-care with the main focus on diversity & inclusivity, where she takes into consideration all kinds of skin types, skin colors, races, and ethnicity while formulating her products and services.

Her products are holistic, natural, sustainable & artisanal. Each product she formulates is unique, handcrafted, toxic-free, vegan or vegetarian, cruelty-free, phthalate-free, paraben, SLS & sulfate-free, and comes in eco-friendly packaging, 99% plastic-free.

She believes in the concept of holistic living and having a healthy body in and out. This is why she promotes Ayurveda, and Native American remedies and their benefits, through her company’s products, to the rest of the world. Apart from skin care products, her company is also well known for their wide array of herbal and medicinal teas and lattes.

Good skincare products and alternative medicinal remedies, especially handmade, organic, and natural products, that are highly efficient, are beyond the reach of the middle class, as they tend to be expensive. While Hayagrīva is a for-profit company, Deepika believes that people shouldn’t lose out on good skincare or medicinal remedies because of their social classes, financial backgrounds. This is why her products are priced in such a way that it is affordable to all.

She started the company to create a sustainable future & promote healthy living, one product at a time and her company believes in minimalism and zero waste. This is why their packaging is all Bio-Degradable and their containers can be Re-Used, Recycled, or Up-Cycled for another purpose. The company has also developed the products in such a way that the residue that goes down the drain, after use, does not end up polluting the environment.

There is a popular saying, “Give a Man a Fish, and You Feed Him for a Day. Teach a Man To Fish, and You Feed Him for a Lifetime.” Which is she believes in spreading knowledge and awareness. Her company does not have any trade secrets and she teaches the art of making natural skin care products, and their benefits, to those interested. Deepika also provides business advisory services on how to plan, implement, market, and successfully run small businesses.
