As it is rightly said, “Passion is greater than anything in the world”.  Meet Mr.Varun Hasija who is the Director& Global Lead – Product Development at Doceree – the First Global Network of Physician-only Platforms for Programmatic Marketing. With Doceree, he envisions to make healthcare affordable by introducing measurability and precision targeting in physician marketing.

A coding wizard who dives deep into the problem at hand to come out with scalable solutions, he is adept at designing, developing, and maintaining products and apps which are being used world over.

Passionate about start-ups, he chose to work with the problems that are impacting the people at the base of the Maslow’s pyramid, ed-tech and health tech.He had didactic stints with various start-ups.He co-founded online vertical of Ed-tech start-up Coding Blocks with an aim to bridge the gap between the industry requirements and the present structure of computer education in colleges and universities. During his tenure, he helped build and lead products that generated more than $3.5 M in revenue; pioneered the field of online computer education and touched over 100,000 lives through a diverse array of products. At Coding Blocks, Varun led the Engineering and Product team of over 18 individuals engaged in building ed-tech products.

At Coding Blocks, he also co-founded, an online platform to evaluate assignments and hold monthly contests to generate awareness around programming in Tier 2 and Tier 3 in India. He also has to his credit a start-up that he co-founded to introduce the concepts of carbon credit in India that later pivoted to solar panel installations.

Varun had also been associated with Practo, India’s leading teleconsultation platform, as a Software Developer and Platform Engineer.With 4 years of experience, Varun currently handles a team of 40 engineers. His vast experience with diverse start-ups – ranging from socially-driven consumer websites to enterprise business intelligence and analytics software – helps him explore innovative solutions to real-world problems.


  • Contributed in multiple research papers published in renowned conferences by Stanford Crowd Research Collective, a worldwide group of researchers led by Michael Bernstein in Stanford CS.
  • Published a research paper on “Targeted Advertising using Behavioural Data and Social Data Mining (ICUFN2016)”. Invited as a Speaker at Technische Universität (TU) Wien, Vienna
  • Published a research paper on “A Sentiment and Interest Based Approach for Product Recommendation (UKSim2015)”. Invited as a Speaker at Cambridge University, Cambridge
  • Won various hackathons by building products for the masses. One of prominent ones was WAVE, a hackathon project for Practo Sandbox V. The aim of the project was to develop a hearing aid for people with sensioneural hearing loss with the help of a smartphone and headset.
