Presenting here the story of a common man who chose to break away from the common paths to live an uncommon life by choosing uncommon ways in this common world. Mr. Paresh Gupta is an uncanny bundle of surprises with super academic achievements and some amazing artistic talents. He exudes modesty belying the fact that he is today a 6 times TEDx speaker, advisor to multiple startups across the globe with a huge fan list, founder of GCEC Global Centre for Entrepreneurship and Commerce which is one of its kind college on entrepreneurship, real estate and agriculture business owner and a life coach to several young minds.
He topped his State in 12th Boards, graduated from Shri Ram College of Commerce as a topper again, a first attempt Chartered Accountant and an MBA from London School of Business and Finance. He is a Trained financial modeler from Operis UK and a trained investment banker from LSBF. This should not undermine his other talents on being a superb singer, gold medalist in dance, national level debater, painter, adroit at playing all sorts of musical instruments right from Sitar, Guitar, Dholak, Tabla and many others to being a celebrity chef and a connoisseur of good food. While traveling the country he has met over 50,000+ students in the last 5 years guiding them on their careers and he has mentored over 300+ startups, some of whom are today top rated startups across India and asia. He is a mentor to several startup networks and institutions including Headstart Network, Startup-O Singapore, Viridian E-spark, Startup Oasis, Neos Angels, IITs, IIMs, Kirorimal College, NarseeMonjee and several others. Not only startups, he has helped several students in deciding their career paths, helped them get good jobs, saved many lives from committing suicide or going into depression and counselled hundreds of parents on new age career dimensions for their children.
Global Centre for Entrepreneurship and Commerce (GCEC) is his and his wife Pooja’s dream project where they are trying to reinvent the education system of India. Cases of suicides in IITs and other top educational institutions are increasing at an alarming rate due to acute peer pressure. India has the highest number of teenage suicides in the world as per World Health Organisation Report and the primary reason for the same is social and family pressure” quotes Paresh. “We do not need more books to teach today because Google has better content available free online, what we need to teach is how to select the right books, how to select the right resources and how to do better decision making, which is not being taught in education institutions” states Paresh.
Paresh’s life is a journey of successes and failures. He maintains that it is important to fail multiple times to finally win. Success is counted sweetest who fail first and then win. There is no fun in winning in one go. Life always gives us a second chance and that’s when we need to win.
