Since 2020, the global pandemic, COVID-19 had a significant impact not only on human lives but also on the global economy. The economy has gone into severe depression due to prolong lockdown and travel restrictions. Huge job losses along with the healthcare crisis have crippled the economy. However, during these desperate times, we realized the true heroes from the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries. The government and people looked up to these heroes with hope for solutions during the grave times. And they didn’t disappoint us. Healthcare workers fought bravely to save and serve the patients. Diagnostic centers conducted millions of tests to detect infected patients, an important step in the prevention of further spread. Pharma researchers developed vaccines in record time and shouldered the responsibility of producing and distributing vaccine doses for billions across the globe. Without their timely and dedicated contribution, we would have never been able to fight this ghastly virus.

 IKA India, a market leader in Laboratory and Process technology, supplied critical equipment such as vortex, thermo shakers, pipette, centrifuges, ovens, dry block heaters and stirrers to COVID-19 vaccine manufacturing plants and diagnostic facilities. IKA lab equipment has been extensively used by India’s top vaccine facilities in Research and Development and Quality Control departments and IKA process equipment like in-line homogenizers were used in manufacturing facilities. Diagnostic centers used IKA equipment for COVID testing preparation.

 We have not only fulfilled our domestic commitments but also supplied to our global business units despite several challenges. At IKA we believe in customer focus, that is why IKA along with its dealers provided services and installation facilities to its customers even during the lockdown.

During these desperate times, IKA India stood by its employees and introduced new facilities to reduce the pressure on its employees. IKA ensured no loss of job and pay cut, at the same time extended healthcare benefits and medical insurance to its employees to combat this deadly disease. It has gifted its employees essential items last year. IKA has also organized free vaccination for its employees and their families at its premises. IKA India also distributed Deepavali/Festive bonus in 2020. IKA also recognized its internal COVID warriors & rewarded them with appreciation letters addressed to employees immediate family.

IKA India’s production and supply chain units were in full swing even during strict lockdown (as it-supplied equipment to pharma and other critical industries) yet it had zero Covid cases on-premises, as we ensured a hygienic and protected work environment. We have also heavily invested in R&D and introduced new products during this time. The State Government had helped the manufacturing sector during these trying times which helped us in running our production facility thereby ensuring continuity of business.
