Vivek Jagdish Thakkar brings with him professional experience of close to two decades of deep understanding and command over finance domain covering financial planning, fund management, acquisitions and structuring, handling legal and financial due diligence, budgeting, development and implementation of new systems, cost controls, profitability improvement, taxation and regulatory compliance. Apart from being a successful professional, he is also associated with ISKCON and provides voluntary services and donations for empowerment of farmers, rural health care, water resource development, rural skill development, educate the youth and distribution of food. He stood 3rd in Maharashtra by scoring 98 marks in Accounts which inspired him to be a Chartered Accountant, wherein he can help nation building by contributing back to society through Corporate Governance. He has done Bachelor of Commerce from K J Somaiya Arts & Commerce Mumbai. He completed his articleship with G P Kapadia & Co. founded in the year 1929 by late Mr. Gopaldas P Kapadia, the first president of ICAI. During his articleship, he has done audit of Grasim Industries, Air India, Punjab National Bank, HPCL, Cotton Association of India. He had played a key role in Bank empanelment audit conducted by ICAI.
Vivek Jagdish Thakkar is currently working as General Manager Accounts with K Raheja Corp, which is an India’s leading developer encompasses the entire real estate value chain, ranging from land acquisition, development, operating assets across offices, hospitality, malls, residential and Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT). The Commercial office space operated under brand name Mindspace, Commerzone and The Square and having total leasable area of 31.8 msf listed under Mindspace REIT. Residential business projects are spread across 5 cities under the brand name K Raheja Homes. The Mall business operates under brand name Inorbit and has presence in 4 cities. Hospitality Business has operational hotel keys of 3000+ and is listed under Chalet Hotels. Retail business operates 259 retail outlets across India under brand name Shoppers Stop. He looks into Statutory Accounts closure, including various types of audits, SEBI and REIT compliances for Mindspace REIT SPVs, RERA compliances for Residential projects. He has played a significant role in setting up of captive shared service Centre for K Raheja Corp group at Airoli for their different functions like PTP, OTC, Direct, Indirect tax, banking, treasury and RTR for their business verticals Residential, Commercial, Hotels and Malls. He played active role in employees role mapping to allocate roles as per individual strength and career prospects.
He started his professional journey working as Group Financial Controller with Hospitality business startup Impresario Entertainment & Hospitality Pvt. Ltd., which is into chain of restaurants operating under brands like Mocha, Saltwater Café, Smoke House Deli, SOCIAL, antiSOCIAL, Prithvi Café, Boss Burger, Slink & Bardot and Cloud Kitchen. He played major role in setting up robust internal process, controls, MIS (for reporting to investors) and was actively involved in raising three round of private equity finance for expansion of business by opening new restaurants in Tier I and II cities. He had seen the business growth of Impresario from 2 company owned restaurant to 42 restaurants during his working tenure of 8 years.
His professional journey continued working as Vice President Accounts & Finance with Panoramic Universal Limited, wherein his job role was to handle Accounts, MIS and internal controls for their 30 hotels in India owned and operated under the brand name United 21. During his working tenure, he was handling a team size of 48 accountants which also included F & B Controllers. He played crucial role in controlling budgets for under construction hotels and reporting to management. He ensured there is no revenue leakage by implementing robust internal process and controls in hotel units across India.
